I vote reg version 2, those 2 extra ver were worthless and unnecessary, 2s continuation of the 2k4s is what gets me to give them the nod over most, and one day i'll have the marbles......

Kobe 5's are definitely a Top 3 Kobe in the line, but I'm not a fan of the Dark Knight... as soon as they put the Blue in there, it negated anything "Dark Knight" about it.
My favorite 5 by a landslide is the "Bruce Lee"... which is of course TOP 5 Kobe period, regardless of number.

There isn't another Kobe in the line that comes close to the Kobe 8.
You can take the Top 5 of every colorway and they wouldn't matchup to the Top 5 Kobe 8's.
Lastly, there isn't another Kobe in the line that identify's with Kobe and the "Black Mamba" persona, better than the Kobe 8.
so good at capturing the mamba theme they reused it on the ix's

You mean those GITD AS 9s? That's one of the worse CWs of the 9 Elite IMO.
I'd rather have the Year of the Horse 8 then those. Not one the stronger 8 CWs but better then those 9s.

I'd have to say the 8's did it better and in a more Sophisticated & Versatile Way. Here's why:
Sure, the 6's did the whole "Scales" gimmick, because they took the obvious LITERAL Approach of Snake Texture.
The Kobe 8's were able to pull off that Snake persona and identity in a much more SUBTLE manner. They were able to go from Snake to Snake with each colorway... giving each Kobe 8 its own Personality.
That's just something the 6's couldn't do, because all they could do was change from (mostly) Solid or Uninspired Fade Color to the next.

But these could've possibly been memorable if the Bottom Sole was Clear or Translucent... just that kind of colorway.
I'll One Up you on the Turrible though... I don't think there's any CW worse than this and it used the same pattern (SMH) as the one above:

Yeah, these are more of literal adaptation, but that doesn't mean that they HAD TO do it or that the other 8's weren't already doing it well WITHOUT the Literal approach.

I have to admit, the 9 EXT's are Very Dope! And they definitely give you that Snake-feel, especially in the back.
I still need to copp a pair of Red EXT's for the Winter...
