Jordan Brand will be remastering (building better quality shoes) starting in 2015

I'm not sure what you're saying anymore. The panels on the OG's are clearly bigger and taller than they are on modern retro's, yet you said the retro's panels were "dumb high". RIght?

Yea, it's definitely not bigger. If anything they made them smaller and angled them down. If you put on any Jordan 7 retro from 02 until the CDP, the upper part flares out to the sides when it's not laced up high. Everything post CDP flares in and basically rubs your ankle when you put your foot in it. I couldn't even wear that 2nd cardinal retro without higher socks because the red leather liner on the upper would scrape the hell out of my ankles. Those remastered french blues look just like the post cdp's.

With all due respect but.....

Brah you are talking straight corporate PR spin nonsense.

The entire point of releases retro is to have the same (or near) product to what came out in the past. Not some "update"/"modern" take. Because if consumers really wanted that, then those Vac-Tech and Hyperfuse, Pennys and Barkleys would be flying off shelves. But they don't, they bomb hard, even among the most hardcore enthusiast of those lines.

If JB wants a modern take on the retros. Then do it through colorways.

And I don't know what the hell you're talking about older shoes being chunky because if you look at most OG compared to retro on feet in person, the OG looks sleeker. Especially the toebox.

They killed the shape of retros damn near a decade ago. When most of their current hyperbeast fan base cared nothing about sneakers of any sort. So miss me with that notion that the banana shape is meant to somehow appeal to consumers.

They did it because they were cheap, they never stop because the shoes still sold, and now they are want a pat on the back for fixing something that should have never went wrong in the first place

**** them
This!

I think they changed the shape because 1. There's no denying that obesity is an epidemic in this country. People overall are much, much bigger. With an increase in size, peoples feet are bigger as well. They had to adjust the shape to fit all the obese peoples feet. And 2. They were lazy and had zero respect for the original designs.

From all the pictures I'm seeing in this thread of the remastered retros, the only difference I see is material. The shapes are all still off in some way.

4's, 7's, and 10's??? I get the the 7's, but what's with the 4's and 10's? Where's the City Series? Where's some OG White Cements (nobody's gonna complain) or full grain Fire Red's? You wanna get crazy, let's get some Last Shots with the original durabuck and insoles (for the vents). Let's get some high quality "Flu Game" 12's. You could charge $250 for those and BET I'm a grab two pairs. How 'bout some Black Cement 3's with Nike Air, hell I'd even take the jumpman with midsoles that don't crack when grown *** men wear them. Let's get some Maroon 6's with real leather and see if people don't bust a nut. I'm talking about sneakers that people would go absolutely ape-**** over and they're releasing sparkles and speckles and whatever the **** those x's are up there. Who the **** is running JB?

I got into 7s over the last 3 or 4 years. In terms of shape, next years 7s are the worst imo and I dont have any attachment to the OGs.

People been complaining about the shape of the 7s for the longest and saying it is in the top 3 worst retroed shoes and I only see that with the recent raptors and next years mold.

With that said I cant justify a $200 purchase with next years mold. I dont just say that. I have no 6 in my collection cuz the CDP is the only good shaped 6 since the OGs imo and I prolly won't touch the 6s until almost the whole outsole touches the ground

Teah the difference I noticed right away was that the side panels on my retro pair came up too high vertically. Although I wore an 8.5 when the og came out and my retros are a 13

Ive had ogs, first retros, etc...

All my retro vii's are comfortable with no midsoles cracking at all.

Loved the og vii and even though the retros arent perfectly like the ogs they are by far the best effort jb has made when creating a retro

I thought it be good to throw this imagine in here. I rather have that OG look than the materials and maybe it's because less people ball in the kicks or whatever but a true remaster of any of these won't start until they fix the shape. Materials good and all but shape defines the shoe tooView media item 1157221

The shape/construction depends on the materials to a certain degree. Soft flexible leather and PUT midsole gives the shoe a more natural look.
Speakin bout the midsole , funny no 1's seems to mention it, PUT needs to come back for that nice soft responsive feel. The VI's have been a victim to
that brick feel since the DMP VI in 2006

I wish I still had my 04 Olympics so I could post a pic...they were so bad they mifht of been b grades. Got em straight from footlocker too

looks like we are not gonna get the 99 or the 89 shape for the 4s

the guy in the vid didnt mentioned anything about the shape from shoes

so basically the remasterd retros is just based on the original product

with improved materials and overall quality

This is what I expected when I first heard the news though. You boys asking for shape might as well be asking for fat air bubbles on 95s

Are you guys watching the same thing? He specifically mentioned the shape at 9:20, and pretty much everyone involved has yammered on and on about how the mold has been updated.

Give it some time (years) fellas. I bet the remastered IIIs will be spot on whenever they decide to re-open "the vault" again. I'll start to pay more attention to this whole remastered jive from that point on.

yoohoo they have raised the cut from the AJ4 mudguard from the remastered retro with 3 millimeters

That's exactly what most people in here taking about the shape's point is

It's one thing to not fix a problem completely, but it's another to talk out of your *** as though you did when we can clearly see otherwise.
