Jordan Brand will be remastering (building better quality shoes) starting in 2015

If the shoe were correct height and shape like the 99's, I don't think it would be as bad. I also think they do it because many people tuck their pants behind the tongue and like it to be exposed more. I never adopted that trend, but it works for a lot of people. However, I do agree with the tongue, but I lace mine almost to the top, so its not really an issue for me and my Jeans always cover that part.
 
I'm not from the OG era so I don't have the feeling of being robbed in comparison to what I had before. Some of the differences I've seen between OGs and newer molds/models/whatever haven't been too bad or even to my liking, but there are still glaring issues with these retros. They become bigger issues when you promise to return everything to it's true form to satisfy the customer's demands in exchange for a couple more bucks and then you do practically nothing different and slap us all in the face.

There are still Jordans I would love to have. I've been following sneakers since 2012, didn't get my first retro until 2013, but I'm very much into sneakers and have purchased probably 4-5 retros within the last year. So I still have a desire for so many different Jordans they I have never owned so I'll still buy the ones I really truly want like the Hare 7s or Aqua 8s or multiple 11s. But for coloways that I find to be anything less than must haves I'll pass. Columbia 4s are great shoes. In comparison to the OG, it pales a little IMO since the '99 mold has to be the best 4 mold to me. But I still like this release however not for $200. And that's where JB might lose some people over time. If these were $150 they're a much easier cop, but you're raising prices to the point where I'm holding out for mostly OG colorways tbh.

I can go out and purchase two pairs of adidas for the same price of a retro and get better comfort/support/materials. Or go out and spend my $200 on a Lebron or $150 of a KD and get the latest in Nike tech. I'll be just fine copping some AM1s or AM90s and a pair of flux's or whatever my heart desires and get two for the price of one. Actually, I'd rather these than the 4s and they're $110 cheaper.

All FL has is a 6 and a 7 though.

The JB hype is real but most of their consumers are younger and Nike/JB will alienate them with these price hikes especially if another company, like adidas, can come along with some heat and adidas is doing just that.

I'm and old timer and everyday I read all this BS about shape and buttery soft leathers.

It's a GD shoe!

We aren't talking about anything special.

Times change and people put way too much thought and emphasis into a pair of shoes.

I picked those ^^^^^^ up for $41 delivered from a city gear sale a few months back.  Still haven't tried on.

Little bro copped too.

Looking around now and the best I can find is retail on ebay. I'll have to check my local malls. These will be had though.

My first pair of 1's.

I changed the laces to match the navy trim, they look great.

It's not luck, you've got to put in the time on twitter and other sneaker deal sites.

Trust me you will get them at a reduced cost.

Americans are pretty stupid, just because someone in another country makes pennys per day doesnt mean they live in poverty, what if it takes 10 cents to live per day and these guys bring home a dollar or 2 per day maens they are not doing too bad. regardless this is about remastered and i know we thought they would look closer to OG and everything but the complaint should be for the price hike. They rake us over the coals for bad quality then tell us ok we will do better but its gunna cost you even more than the crazy prices we already pay. Makes no sense.

Nevermind Zyzz, I just realized on the Boys pairs (which still have a similar shape to the 99s and OGs) have a ridiculously high tongue as well. lol

Its funny that you post the Air Max 1 in here, because since 09 that's been Nikes Jordan IV in terms of horrible shape. They butchered the Air Max 1 just like JB butchered the IV. Both are significantly more noticeable that other models. They cut so much off the AM1 that it doesn't even look like the Pre 2008 models.

No its not an excuse. These are shoes people really like and want, and with 190 price tag. people want what they want. The reason its an issue is due to the fact that JB promised one thing as an excuse to raise the price and has given us the opposite. People love Jordan's and have that right.

If apple sold you an Iphone 7 that is no better than the iPhone 4 but for $100 more you would demand an explanation/change as well. Now is a better time than ever to call JB out for the BS then are on.

Not true, I haven't bought a pair of Jordan's since 2010 like many others. I was fed up with releases and decided to step away. Others went on to still complain and buy. If other people followed suit and stopped buying and boycotted as I suggested earlier, JB would notice and change some things. They dont take consumers serious because the majority is not taking their own complaints seriously.

And violence over shoes is not Nike's problem. If its not violence over shoes its violence over I phones, iPads, north face products, etc. Violence over shoes is our problem that we are responsible for.

As I said before, if no one bought a single pair of legend blue XIs Nike would have been out 8 million dollars and would have been forced to have a few meeting s

What "matters" is subjective. You might not care and deem these discussion insignificant but to other's it's very important. Important to their every day lives? No of course not. But important to a hobby they're passionate about? Absolutely.

Well again I'm oblivious to that as well because I wasn't paying attention back then. I still like the shoe. Maybe I'd like the pre 2008 models more, but I don't have those to go off of. I still like the shoe.

And really, that's the reason why JB/Nike gets away with what they do. Because most don't know better. They don't know anything else so they don't feel robbed or cheated like more seasoned collectors/heads. The 4s still look attractive in general. It's only a small minority that sees the difference or even knows there's a difference for that matter.
 
I think its great people are speaking up and not continuing to be a slave to Nike. And by slave I mean buying whatever Nike puts out even if it's ****.

You are still missing the bigger picture of many people's complaints, especially in this new era of the "remaster".
 
no one forces us to buy anything we love it because other companies aint making what nike/jb makes
and then when we customize or restore our products the way nike should, or according to our tastes, ignorant people mock us for "unofficial" products.

why dont the companies give the niche consumer what they wanted? because nt folks are outnumbered. i can bet that if theres 10k of us on nt that wanted 10k 99-01 style III-VIs, theres another 150k sneaker heads outside of nt that dont care/dont own 99-01 stuff before.

150 k x $190 msrp for example vs 10k x $190 msrp. its gotta be the money not the shoes mars blackmon

Nike/JB sells a material commodity. Food, gas, mortgage/rent....clothes(shoes) is something we can't live without. Or can we??

It seems as though they have changed the 7's mold back to 7's pre 2008 instead on the shortened 7's from 2011-2012
