How does a cross fit shoe differ from the regular trainers?

regular trainers are usually too soft, nike generally splits the heel into multiple sections which causes the shoe to be unstable and soft under heavy loads. 
a minimal style shoe with a flat sole and 4mm or less heel drop is what works well, at least for me personally. 

Talked to someone at the crossfit games yesterday, they said the shoe will be called the Metcon TR and will have its debut in feb 2015

Very interested to try this shoe out.  If you've used the most popular shoes for CrossFit (Reebok Nano and Inov- you can tell the difference between what Nike currently offers and what most cross fitters wear.  Nike signed a bunch of CrossFit athletes as well as the winning team from 2014.  Saw this on another site

Target release date is Feb. 2015 from what I've heard. 7-8 color ways to be released. The name metcon TR was the original name but I heard they are rethinking it.

Thanks any previews of the color ways?  I've seen a few online but only 2 or 3 that were OK.

Only 3 I've seen was one all black, one orange/blue, and one black/grey/volt.

I used to train at Kenneth Leverich's gym Orange Coast Crossfit, Ill try to visit and get some info out of him. I wish we wore the same size shoe  
One of the Mexico guys just got a sample, not sure how he pulled that off but they look sweet
