QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

After Clowney they wanted to make a 2nd play for Bortles but Jacksonville reached. I don't think BOB liked Bridgewater.

Savage isn't a long term answer either.

Think eventually Mallett will get a look but they'll be fishing for a QB in the offseason.

I wouldn't mind them looking at a guy like Mannion.

Ry has a cannon for an arm, just needs to learn the finesse aspect of the game and how to actually play the QB position with savvy.

Nothing would make me happier than to see Ryan Mallet succeed

I heard someone saying he'll get a chance in the next couple of weeks and he's picking up the offense very well so far.

Not beating a dead horse, but letting Minny snipe for Teddy is unacceptable. Clowney and Bridgewater in the same draft is a home run for the ages, and launches you long-term in the playoffs for years to come.

Texans will always contend for 2nd place in the AFC SOUTH :smokin

They found some success with Schaub...maybe they go the route of that promising backup again. Cousins?

I just want a QB :smh:

These past 2 seasons have been dreadful :smh:

Brady in 2015 :nerd:

talk of Brady being traded at year end is running RAMPANT in NE...

Luck really needs to cut down on the INT

2.3 INT % in 1,400+ attempts.

2.2 INT % in 900+ attempts.

Someday, someone is going to explain this **** to me.

This year is his best throwing the ball and he leads the league in picks.

And?

2.3 INT % in 1,400+ attempts.

2.2 INT % in 900+ attempts.

Read it, again.

Well since you brought it up last year Andrew Luck was 24th in the league as far as yards per attempt so basically last year in 570 of his attempts he was a checkdown artist.

It's easy not to throw picks when you aren't throwing the ball down the field. Ask Alex Smith

Fast forward to this year and he's chucking it up having and good season but that interception percentage jumps to 2.77%

To put that in context that's higher than interception machines Tony Romo and Matt Stafford interception percentage the last 2 years.

But hey I need to read it again and Andrew needs to get cut down on the interceptions.

I been waiting for SP to figure out the 2.3 is Luck, and the 2.2 is Wilson.

One "needs to cut down the INT's", the other makes "such good decisions".

And I didn't even include all the fumbles Wilson has.

But hey, why bring up facts, right?

So Andrew Luck doesn't need to slow a pace that has him on par to lead the league in interceptions and have a interception rate that's on par with Ryan Tannehill?

His career rate is the same as Wilson, with fewer fumbles. I'd say he's doin just fine.

He'll finish with several hundred more attempts, hence, more picks, but if the rates are similar, there's nothing to stress over.

2.3 vs 2.2 = similar.

Stay with your narrative parroting tho.

Dude last year he threw the ball as far and as much as Alex Smith.

This year attempts are up and yards per attempt are up and so are the picks.

That ain't a narrative that's simple statistical analysis.

Like I give a ****.

You bringing up these raw numbers as if they are definitive truth.

Look the numbers up.

No matter how much you love Andrew Luck he was a checkdown artist last year. The numbers you love so much say so. I'm sorry that hurts your feelings.

Now that he's airing it out he's throwing picks at a "non" elite rate. Those are facts.

Don't post a wall of stats and get sand in your vagina when I post ones don't vibe with your Andrew Luck is Jesus narrative.

Is Wilson some ******* downfield artist you genius?

Two guys, same class, same experience, thru 37 games, 2.3-2.2.

Wilson is no friggin gunslinger, stop acting like Luck just started throwing it around while Wilson carries the ball on a pillow. That, is, thee, point.

You can call him a checkdown all you want, so is the other guy. They have near identical rates, but one has over 500 more attempts.

Russ turns the ball over exactly as much as Luck, do you get that fact? Is it difficult for you to grasp? Do you need pie charts or something? Bar graphs, pictures?

Last year Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers and Nick Foles are the only starting quarterbacks that had a higher yards per attempt than Russell Wilson

There goes those crazy facts again.

Even if you don't like my method of treating all fumbles equally, Luck's career INT% is 2.27%. Wilson is 2.25%. This TO stuff is a myth.

Scott Kacsmar @FO_ScottKacsmar · 10m
As a rookie for sure, but career turnover rates:
Luck - 2.99%
Wilson - 3.14%

"This TO stuff is a myth."

I'm not tearing down Russ one bit. I'm pointing out the flawed argument that everyone has, "Luck needs to cut down the INT's". "Wilson is such a great decision maker"

With identical rates.

False, narrative.

I'm not propping Luck, or knocking Russ, I'm showing the factually incorrect narrative.

It's right here in two tweets.

Yards per attempt factor in RAC, SP? :nerd:

Cuz, Peyton had several "80 yard" screen passes to Demaryius last year. You consider those downfield throws?

Since you brought up whether or not Russell Wlison is some downfield artist:

If there has been one aspect of Russell Wilson’s game that stands out above all over his brief NFL career, it’s his deep ball. No one can match the frequency and precision that Wilson has shown on targets over 20 yards the past two seasons. For Wilson’s career he has gone deep on 15.6% of his passes, been accurate on 48.6% of those, and averaged 16.5 yards per attempt.

Top 10 Deep Passing Accuracy Percentages:
# Name Team Att. Comp Acc. %
1 Russell Wilson SEA 45 25 60.0
2 Matt Cassel MIN 15 9 60.0
3 Case Keenum HST 30 12 53.3
4 Aaron Rodgers GB 32 16 53.1
5 Alex D. Smith KC 34 12 52.9
6 Mike Glennon TB 29 12 48.3
7 Kellen Clemens SL 19 6 47.4
8 Nick Foles PHI 34 16 47.1
9 Peyton Manning DEN 58 26 46.6
10 Geno Smith NYJ 50 21 46.0

Actually yes. Yes he is.

Honestly, I'm shocked. Where did you grab this from?

And why isn't Stafford or Rivers or Ben on the list? They take shots downfield all the time?????
