One thing you have to give these nerds is that when they dive in or want to know everything about something, they do it 100%. That has a serious amount of value. He's a full time writer and looks like that, I don't think he's out there slaying the ladies in this free time
I don't think having NCAA/NFL experience is a pre-requisite to be able to talk about NCAA/NFL players (although it doesn't hurt).

Exactly. Some of the worst predictions and scouting done is by former players and coaches. Look at the crazy **** Gruden, Jaws, and Dilfer say.

Guys can be very intelligent- be well meaning and question why coaches run certain plays or formations but unless you are talking to the coaches its hard to fully understand.
Like the TE screen..the fan can think that's a stupid play but Bevell may have his reasons for running it or Baldwin in the backfield may be part of a series of looks to be used later in the season.
I remember Dolphins fans critcizing Lazor for running a reverse with Landry on 3rd and short but Belichick and McDaniels run a similar play with Edleman on 4th and short and it worked.
With coaching, its balance between taking risks and looking like a genius or looking like an idiot.
Its a hard $$$ profession bro.

I hate to break it to you but thats not breaking down All-22 in the traditional sense.
All-22 would be the wide top of the stadium angle and the tight copy from the back.
