Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy

Just watched it and loved it. Haven't picked through this thread yet, and I'm sure it's been talked about, but what are your thoughts on "Max" actually being the grunting kid from "Road Warrior"?

Clues:

--His reluctance to say his name
--The grunts
--The boomerang he picks up
--The music box

This was honestly one of the best, and most surprising, movies I have ever seen. I am going to be honest, I thought this movie looked pretty dumb from the trailers but I was wrong to judge a book by its cover. Everything about this film was incredible and seeing it in RPX really enhanced the experience. Felt like I was apart of some of chases lol. The wives were all fine as hell too, that scene when Max first sees them -- son...

WWWWOOOWWWWW....

Wood wife.

Is it me or did she look a wee bit thicker in MM?

Yah was surprising how much meat she had in the film because I knew wasn't that stacked. I think she has an indy film coming up (or just released) where she was topless and they definitely look like two different people base on them...

That's something cool to think about.

He told his story in the beginning of the movie though. I think he talked about how his wife and daughter were killed so feral boy would've had to have taken Max's name and his story. Throghout the movie he kept having those visions of the little girl who I assumed was his daughter.

Y'all know Zoe got those nudes out, right? :nerd:

^^^...true, didn't eem consider that.

I never got the appeal of Zoe kravitz. She looks like Lisa bonet now( in her 40's) not Lisa Bonet when she was actually hot

I thought Lisa Bonet looked aiite, especially for her age, when was at the Met Gala a few weeks back.

one of the best movies I've seen in the last 10 years, easily. 3D was very much worth it also. couple ticky tack things I have about this movie was the casting of Tom Hardy. He did an amazing job, most of his own stunts and all that. But with a character that doesn't have a lot of dialogue, you need to feel like there is a lot going on inside. If they don't speak it, you need to see it some other way and I don't feel like Tom 100% captured that feeling. Heath could have given you that, Mel Gibson is pretty much famous for that. But yes few people can pull off that loveable but dangerous look and feel and maybe Tom isnt the best at it but he did do pretty decent.

The other small thing I noticed is actually a spoiler so I've you haven't seen the film, don't open it.
When Charlizes character is bleeding out and max just so happens to have his blood draining stuff on him to do a blood transfusion, HOW THE HELL WOULD HE KNOW WHAT HER BLOOD TYPE IS?? Did I miss this or is that just a plot hole? Give a person the wrong blood and it coagulates and they die lol.

But yeah other than that slight acting gripe, and that other thing, this movie was SUPERB from start to finish. Ranks right up there with the best action films of all time, T2, Die Hard, you name it

**edit. I found the answer to my spoiler so nevermind about that one.

I am trying to think of the best action movies this decade, 2010-present, the only ones that come to mind are The Raid and The Raid 2 (especially this one with the variety of action scenes).

With so many generic action films these days,Transformers series etc, it is hard to think of some. You guys got any others that come to mind?

You answered your own question.

Modern action movies are generic cash grabs nowadays.
