Rightly so. There's a lot of quality in and around that #10 role, and he wants to keep them all very hungry.

Gonna be nice to see young Adnan get the start

Just saw that Jones is also back, that back line should finally be solid this game :smokin

The New York Cosmos have agreed on contract terms with former Real Madrid and Spain striker Raul, a source with knowledge of the negotiations told ESPNFC.com.

The Spanish icon is expected to sign the contract as soon as this week and will join the NASL club in time for the 2015 spring season. He will also head up the Cosmos' youth academy, which is expected to launch next year. While Raul's exact salary is not known, the source said that the player has signed a multi-year deal.

Raul, 37, made 102 appearances for Spain, and his 44 goals are second all-time behind David Villa. He has spent the bulk of his club career with Real Madrid, and is the club's all-time leading scorer, tallying 323 times in all competitions.

After completing his 16th season with los Blancos in 2010 -- a spell in which the club won six La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League crowns -- he moved to Bundesliga side Schalke 04. Raul played two seasons for the Gelsenkirchen-based club, after which he moved to Qatari side Al-Saad, where he spent two seasons. He made his last appearance for Al-Saad last March.

Since that time, the Cosmos have been aggressively pursuing Raul. Published reports indicated that here was a time when it looked like the former Spanish international might join up with New York during the fall season. But Real Madrid then made an offer to Raul to be its technical director, while Al-Saad made a push for the player to head up its academy.

The additional options delayed his final decision, but the Cosmos were persistent, and after Raul visited the club earlier this month, they were able to convince the player to sign, the source said.

:x Check out vid footage of this brawl that occurred Friday in the Argentinian 3rd division when Deportivo Roca hosted rival Cipolletti... Forward to the 2.54 mark when the foul occurred. The melee ensues thereafter. Brawl & 12 red cards later, the match was stopped. :smh:

Man I've heard some stories about the madness that ensues at matches in some of the South American lower divisions.

Interviewer just asked LVG whether there is a formation change:

"you have to pay attention to it and see."

hes captain and an OG to MU. dudes the poster boy of england practically

All true but he hasn't been at his best lately for club and country so I don't see anything wrong with LVG telling everyone that there won't be any special treatment for anyone. They all need to earn their spots, hopefully it keeps everyone honest and motivated.

I think that's fair.  Nothing's automatic, especially if you're unavailable for several games.  Keeps players on their toes.

Hope all is well with Falcao cause I'm not buying the jet lag excuse much since Di Maria and Rojo had to come back from Hong Kong and they're good to go.

My friend David is really offended by that

David shouldn't be offended, he'd make the starting XI overrated team as well.

Eiddy I love you man, but no list you throw at me (esp one with Berbotov on it) can convince me that A) Rooney is worth £300,000 per week B) He's lived up to the hype C) Their isn't another large list of players I'd rather have than Wayne Rooney.

I mean, Alex Ferguson could tell you that much. I know it strikes a cord saying Wayne Rooney is overrated being that he is the posterboy, but dude he is. He's not the only one tho
