Bro, I know how marketable the EPL is, I don't need anyone to tell me that. They're miles ahead of La Liga globally. They do a great job.

All I'm saying is, EPL lovers are not the only ones who buy the game. All I'm asking for is this - Humble some of those English player ratings and give me Porto & Benfica's stadiums (which are beautiful) and I'll be satisfied. Also maybe, just maybe rate Pique to be a 75

It's all about how easy it is to get the licensing to make these deals. It's simply much easier to get all of the BPL licensed then other leagues. Reason why the Brazilian league will no longer be involved for the foreseeable future. Reason why it took so long to get Madrid/Barca stadiums involved. They also had to individually negotiate with the BFA over their NT to at least keep them in the game. EA is also an official sponsor so it just makes sense to include the entire league in their game.

Kimchi Papi Kimchi Papi

You got any info/insight on the US U17 kid, Christian Pulisic I think, who is in the process of finalizing with BVB?

He's kinda from my neck of the woods from Hersey PA... He's from a pretty good club called PA Classics which has also turned out MLS PHilly Union's striker Andrew Wenger.

I think that team is affiliated with the Union. They must be pretty good because another Union affiliated team sent a kid to West brom, a defender by the name of Danny Barbir...

Pulisic is an attacking mid/winger. I know he's a key member of the U17s.

One of the coaches at my son's old club played professional indoor with his Pops here in the states for a team called the Harrisburg Heat. He's supposed to be pretty good & I guess if he's signing for Dortmund, that says something...

Today is the 78th anniversary of the murder of Josep Sunyol, a Barca president that was shot & killed by Franco’s rebel fascist army on 8/6/36... His murder helped propel the animosity between Catalans & Madridistas...

For any hardcore footy fans, Sid Lowe's book Fear and Loathing in La Liga is a great read. There's a couple of chapters about Sunyol & his murder that were really good. The book overall is a really great book.

Just finished the Napoli vs Barca on delay via dvr. Despite controlling most of the game, Barca lost because they couldn't finish the few chances they had. Gotta hand it to Napoli though, they played solid defense. Rakitic looked solid again. Really impressed with his play so far.

I get that, we don't know if Porto or Benfica are asking more for the licensing and we don't know if they've been asked.

But still, that doesn't address the fact that so many English players are more highly rated

How did Bravo look?

To me, Bravo never really seemed like he had the quality required for a team like Barcelona.

Dortmund is stockpiling their American youngsters this would be their 3rd one this season.

Dortmund is capitalizing off of the growing interest in soccer over here...scout the youth systems for an untapped market, help them grow, fed your club.

The USNT in return gets fully developed players who can hang with the rest.

So Arsenal fans compromise 25% of the football fans on here?

Wow, I expected them to win but I didn't expect them to beat the United fans by double :wow:

Everytime i meet my girl for lunch or pick her up from work and im early, that's the book i always pick up from the bookstore while waiting.  i go back from where i left off the previous time and just contimue reading on.  i might as well just buy it.

For whatever reason, I'm too cheap to pay more than $5-10 for a book. I buy used off Amazon primarily.
Want to read that as all the stories Lowe mentions on Twitter seem quite fascinating, but I'll wait for a copy.

Just bought a copy of "Football Against the Enemy", so that's next on my reading list.

From my understanding about release clauses, as long as the buying club is willing to pay it, and the player agrees on personal terms, isn't that all that's needed?

I thought this also, then the Suarez Arsenal transfer thing happened and I'm not sure how a release clause works anymore since Henry stated there was a release cause in his contract.

Speaking of books, in the old thread I had asked if anybody here had read Zlatan's book and nobody answered. I have it on my on my laptop and it's pure lulz straight from the beginning.

Why does everyone on RM pull the shorts up.  Saw a pic on Marcelo's IG of them jogging and him ronnie and ramos all got their shorts up.  James was the only one with regular looking shorts

And is this memphis to spurs talk real?  Or just rumored for now?  Would love a Memphis spurs kit

Because they're trying to get a tan, a full base.
yup, I also do the same with my shorts during training :pimp:

The Premier League is easier to market because both countries speak the same language and the vast majority of people in both countries are caucasian. Aside from an accent and some key phrases its easier to make it an appealing product to those who don't mind discovering new things.

Now if you want super casuals and support for La Liga, just slap Ronaldo's face on everything and show him doing a bunch of stepovers. The girls and dudes who love highlight reels will come running.

This is all my personal opinion, of course.
I totally agree

Yea, I really don't get what the big deal is. Y'all never pull up your shorts a little bit when your on the beach laying down to get a tan? It's not like your running around in a speedo like Borat Lol

But I hope that's cleared some of the questions concerning this "mystery" lol

Just trying to get a full base bro.

Me and Rck might be the only ones in here rooting for the MLS

Hope it's a good game tho. Just don't wanna see Bayern wash us.

Go MLS :pimp: Kind of bittersweet being just a mile away from the game I built a term project around a couple years ago, when it was just a hypothetical

Tbh, I'm not really rooting for either team.... I hate the format of the all star game
ohwell.gif

I know its pretty arbitrary, but the MLS will never be considered a top league if we are still sending a team of our league's best against a single club

You go to any of the festivities around town? Wanted to check out Pioneer Square but been super busy with work. Couple of my buddies got pics with Julian Green and autographs from him and Javier Martinez.
