Fabregas x Matic

Ramires be goofing up too much and Fabregas is looking so solid being able to move freely.

Chealsea is looking really solid this season. Great midfield AND AND finally, a striker who can create chances by himself :smokin
I like Ramires as a super-sub. Not the most defensively responsible, but can be effective in the 65th to 70th minute and onward. Let him roam free with those surging, pacey runs when opponents' legs are worn.

@SkySportsNewsHQ More stats ahead of PL kick off: Southampton have lost 41 of the 54 goals they scored last season - that's 76%

10 Dutch youngsters to watch in the Eredivisie this season
Posted By Admin On August 13th, 2014 03:11 PM | Eredivisie, Opinion
el-gahsdh.jpg

Anwar El Ghazi

Club: Ajax Age: 19 Position: Winger

El Ghazi has been plunged into the limelight after a terrific pre-season, in which he ended as Ajax’s top scorer with eight goals. The winger came on as a substitute during Ajax’s opening day win over Vitesse, and set up Lasse Schone to net his 2nd goal. The Netherlands U18 international is set to play a major part in Frank de Boer’s Ajax squad this season, and the youngster will be a nightmare for Eredivisie defences with his blistering pace.

karsdorp.jpg

Rick Karsdorp

Club: Feyenoord Age: 19 Position: Midfield or wing back

Karsdorp is set to be the next big talent to come through Feyenoord’s famous youth academy, and should break into the first team this season. Named as the best player in the Dutch U19 league last season, which Feyenoord won, Karsdorp is usually deployed as an attacking midfielder, but can also be deployed as a right back. Karsdorp is tall, strong on the ball, and an excellent passer of the ball.

vloet-d.jpg

Rai Vloet

Club: PSV Age:19 Position: Midfield

Vloet excelled for PSV’s reserve side last season in the Eerste Divisie last season, scoring five times in 26 matches, and big things are expected from the midfielder this season. The Dutch U19 international has been involved with the first team during pre-season, and featured in both legs of the Europa League tie against St Polten. Strong on the ball, Vloet is a good dribbler, and passer, while he has an excellent delivery from set-pieces. Should Adam Maher fail to impress again this season, Vloet is waiting in the wings to take up the number 10 role. PSV recently showed how important Vloet was to the club by tying him down to a new four-year-deal.

sinkgraven.jpg

Daley Sinkgraven

Club: Heerenveen Age: 19 Position: midfield/winger

Sinkgraven is a hugely talented midfielder, who broke into the Heerenveen first team last season, making 17 appearances, which were mostly from the bench. However he 19-year-old started the club’s season opener against Dordrecht, and is likely to remain in the starting eleven for the rest of the season. Sinkgraven is already gaining interest from Ajax, and the Netherlands U19′s international has set himself the target of playing for Barcelona in the future.

ondaan.jpg

Terell Ondaan

Club: Willem II Age: 20 Position: Winger

Ondaan was excellent for Willem II last season, scoring six, and assisting six times in 36 matches, which helped the club clinch the Eerste Divisie title, and gain promotion to the Eredivisie. A tricky winger, who is capable of playing through the middle, Ondaan failed to make an impact in both Ajax or AZ Alkmaar’s youth academies, but will now have the chance this season to prove both clubs were wrong to let him go. Ondaan started the season opener against PSV, and showed glimpses of his talent despite a 3-1 defeat.

kishna-kd.jpg

Ricardo Kishna

Club: Ajax Age: 19 Position: Winger/striker

Kishna is one of Netherlands biggest up and coming talents, who’s development over the past two seasons have been affected by injury, but he is now ready to take the Eredivisie by storm this season. Last season, Kishna made his professional debut for the club, before appearing ten times towards the end of the campaign, scoring once.

Kishna has been tipped to play as a striker in the future, but for now Ajax coach Frank de Boer is using him on the wings, with the attacker showcasing tremendous dribbling ability, and strength. Compared to Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovich already in his short career, Kishna been linked with a number of big clubs, but he recently signed a new deal with Ajax until 2016.

korte-fknf.jpg

Bilal Ould-Chikh

Club: Twente :Age: 17 : Position: Winger/Forward

If you are good enough, then you are old enough is a saying which definitely applies to FC Twente’s young superstar, who excelled for Netherlands U17′s this summer in the run to the European Championships final. Twente’s financial situation has seen them have to sell a number of top stars, which means Ould-Chikh will get a chance in the first team, and the winger appeared from the bench in the draw against Cambuur at the weekend.

Ould-Chikh has bags of talent, with his blistering pace, and trickery already seeing him compared to Arjen Robben.

van-bee.jpg

Sven van Beek

Club: Feyenoord Age: 20 Position: Full Back/Centre Back

Feyenoord may have lost both Bruno Martins Indi, and Stefan de Vrij this season, but in Sven van Beek they have a hugely talented defender, who is capable of stepping in to replace both of them. Van Beek broke into the first team last season, and whether it was at right back or in the centre, the 20-year-old impressed.

Van Beek is comfortable on the ball, strong, and a presence in the air, with his height seeing him win most aerial duels in, and around the box. Already a regular with Netherlands U21′s, Van Beek’s presence in Feyenoord’s first team may see him join teammate Terence Kongolo in the full national team.

van-der-jd.jpg

Mickey van der Hart

Club: Go Ahead Eagles/Ajax Age: 20 Position: Goalkeeper

Van der Hart is one of Netherlands most talented young goalkeepers, and is highly rated by club Ajax. This season the youngster has been sent out on loan to gain first team football at Go Ahead Eagles, just like current Ajax number one Jasper Cillessen did at NEC Nijmegen a few years ago.

The 20-year-old was a regular for Ajax’s reserves in the Eerste Divisie, making 27 league appearances, while he has three caps for Netherlands U21′s. Should Van der Hart impress this season it is likely he will step up to be Ajax’s number two keeper behind Jasper Cillessen next season, with Kenneth Vermeer set to leave.

I wouldn't mind him as a sub, but like Mike said his decision making is mindboggling at times. Willian suffers from the same issue. Dude will put two defenders on skates, burst down the right and hit an unreachable cross or bonehead through ball to nobody

:smh: @ y'all complaining about the kickoff timings...bunch of ********
man,i've had to endure late/early morning kickoffs for like forever... |I
the first game of the season and it starts at 7:45pm...let me enjoy that for a bit

Utd's injury list though |I
- Carrick (ankle,out until October)
- Shaw (hamstring,4 weeks)
- Valencia
- Evans

Tyler Blackett did pretty well in the preseason so he'll slot into that back three for today's match...
"our friend" Recce James might also make an appearance...
interesting to see how the youngsters deal with the massive pressure...

It's crazy how some are picking Chelsea or Arsenal to win the title and even those who reach for United to make a "Liverpool like run because of no Europe." While completely overlooking the defending champs so easy. Are people thinking Diego Costa is going to storm the league because he had one good season in La Liga? Before last season he scored no more than 10 goals a season. It's not an easy transition to continue scoring freely in the EPL. Lampard is no longer there to add his penalties and leadership. Cole will be missed as well and Drogba is coming back to a completely different team on the downside of his career. Hoping Torres makes a miraculous comeback? They may take some points off the top teams but it will be the midtable/bottom clubs that play 10 behind the ball they will struggle with.

Arsenal added Sanchez but they still haven't added quality at ST yet, don't think they have the depth yet to challenge if dry spells/ injuries occur. Community Shield got a few gassed but it's highly unlikely you will ever see City field that type of back four again.

Liverpool will have to deal with the loss of Suarez and the added Euro schedule and don't think Sturridge and Lambert have enough in them to push through.

City should be the favorite by a good margin. First they are the defending champs, proven in this newish climate. All key players locked in. The best strike force in the prem and that's no debate. The bet CM in the prem, again no debate. Gotten rid of pretty much all the dead weight. Have gotten stronger in all key areas to create the most balanced squad in the league on paper. Have proven that even going through a season with multiple injuries to multiple key players they can still go on and win the title. How many teams favored to win do you think can do that? Pellegrini won the double in his first season and can now learn from earlier mistakes and properly navigate the league to improve his away record. Even though it's mentioned quite often, City aren't quite ready to win CL unless a good amount of luck happens but I feel they will further progress so there's still heavy priority for the league trophy.

United just lack serious depth and key players have left the club without proper replacement. Players they have actually signed are taking a huge step up. Think the preseason will be a lot of false hope to those guys.

Predictions:
1. City
2. Chelsea
3. Arsenal
4. Think Spurs will make a surprise leap.
5. Everton
6. Liverpool
7. United

5-7 really interchangeable.

I think I'm all signed up for the fantasy leagues.

I signed up for the two, but why are there two?

Matic and Fabregas will both be in the mid-field together.

I'm gonna go out on a really, really far limb here and say the top 4 looks like this:

Chelsea

Man City

Man Utd

Everton
You really think Arsenal won't be at least top 4 again, even after all of their acquisitions? And that United will be in there?

1. Arsenal
2. City
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool

Thanks for the info though

Swap Liverpool with United, put Arsenal behind City and Chelsea and you're closer to be being on the money. Arsenals issue is how they will handle that December period which generally is problematic for them as they run out of steam. They'll have to manage their injuries as well. Alexis is great, but if he's injured, then what? I feel like Arsenal's greatest problem is quality in depth.

The thing about Citeh and Chelsea is that they're both settling in for a second round, in which they'll almost undoubtedly maintain their level of play from last season or improve. Citeh and Chelsea have only improved their depth for the long haul.

Cesc will end up in Jose's doghouse by late Jan or by Feb...

If he doesn't improve his defensive aspect, I could see that happening towards the business end of the season.

1.City :pimp:
2.Chelsea
3.ManU
4.Arsenal

Can't wait for Sundays game! Oh and the United game in a few hours I guess. At least the BPL is back!

Been following him for the past 2 seasons, I'm quite happy to see him getting a start... :smokin
