Who plays them and why?

I cant count the time that I walk into convenient stores and people spending 40 to 50 bucks on tickets. Like do you really think you can win? I just see this as a waste of money ...

My childhood best friend grandma once thought she won the mega millions ...the whole house went crazy..in that house it was my friend his 2 brothers, sister, 2 cousins, uncle, grandmother, and step grandfather...she didn't win the mega millions unfortunately but she still won Atleast 30 G's I don't know what she did with all the money but I know she bought a brand new Cadillac Seville this was back in 2001

Its some peoples way of going to the casino

Even tho 1 out of every 25 tickets is a winning one

I kinda feel bad for people that sit in gas stations/corner stores and buy tickets/play games all day tryna find a quick come up

This is what I'm talking about ....

People winning??? What one in a 10 million might win something significant?

300 - 500 aint really winning when you just go back and buy that in more tickets ... it's a trap and people are just addicted to it ....

I've played them before, along with lotto tix and going to casinos, but by no means am I a heavy gambler. Some people legitimately think that they may win, and they just might. It's a long shot, but it's possible. They're only a dollar, and people blow a few bucks on anything, a burger, a candy bar, soda, anything.

Lots of people think like you, "no one will ever win" but on the contrary, somebody does win every now and then, so the player's mentality is 'why not'.

I once heard a co-worker refer to the lotto as the 'idiot tax', however I wonder if he considers the winners idiots too? His response may have been something along the lines of "yeah, they're just lucky idiots"... Rich, lucky idiot beats being a broke.

Most I've won off a scratch off is $5. Probably spent around $100 in my life on them.
