Summary: I made a short film... sent a teaser to NT and they told me to fix some things. I fixed it. Finished short film. Submitted to ben affleck and Matt damon's project greenlight. In the meantime, it got nominated for "video of the week" on some scammy website. I won the most votes and still lost. Few days later, video goes semi-viral online, I get featured on Yahoo and Elite daily and a bunch of online website. Few days later, I make it into the top 200 out of thousands of entries >.< now I'm making a Bio vid of who I am and why I deserve to win. must be "funny" they said. i can't...breathe.
(update) THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone that voted, shared, and really supported this short film! We ended the contest in 1st place in voting and so now it is up to the judges to determine who wins between the top 3 videos. I will update everyone with the results as soon as I find out. No matter what happens, i'm so proud of everyone involved! In just a few days, we will also hear from Ben Affleck and Matt Damon to find out if we made it to the top 200! Again...thank you all so much. I've never seen so many people come together like this. I'm still in shock...
(NEWER UPDATE) I just got the results from The Awardeo Company contest! they've chosen the winner! and it's a video that was not even in the top 3 in voting (I don't get it.)... but it's okay... We can't give up. Always look on the brightside... The video just reached 9,000 views and has been shared over 3,000 times on Facebook in the last two days. I admit I felt sad at first, but I mean...it's not about winning awards. If the film can inspire someone to look at failure with a different attitude, then I should be able to as well. I need to start listening to my own advice haha Here is an awesome article that I found on our short film on Daily Buzz Live that made me feel a lot better. Thank you to everyone that supported and voted... I'm sorry that we didn't win...I feel like a disappointment right now.

Inspiring story about what went on behind the scenes of making this: (No need to read but wanted to share)
I have been interested in filmmaking for about 4 years now and I have tried to submit to festivals and simply trying to "make it" but I constantly failed...No one would ever watch my films but I simply was passionate about the art of telling stories and capturing raw emotions.
I realized that if there was one thing that I am an expert at, it would be failing and how to handle it.
I decided to write this short film and after weeks of working with friends and family members, I was ready to start filming. With a 30$ budget for pizza and kool aid, a Canon t3i and one lens, I got to film a lot of footage and was in the process of editing it. However, during the last production day, my hard drive and laptop crashed and I lost about 60% of the footage. The deadline to submit to Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Project Greenlight Contest was the next day and so I panicked. It was another "failure" and I was devastated. I really was contemplating whether or not this was a sign to quit filmmaking all together.
Then as I was trying to salvage any files from the hard drive, I was able to save one audio file that really stopped me from quitting. It is the voiceover file that plays in the short film. It was so fitting to have that audio file playing for me as I slowly tried to save as much footage as I can... It was 16 hours of trying to save footage and also reshooting footage to finally be able to start editing the film. After all that drama, I was able to complete my film and the response has been great. I have been very overwhelmed and I am just excited to share this powerful message and story. I truly believe that this is a message/story that needs to be heard.
