Houston Texans Pre-Season 2015 - Hoyer's The Starter....By GAWD KING!!!

Texans signed Nate Washington. Honestly, I haven't paid attention to Nate Washington in years, all I know is apparently he's still a deep threat, which is cool, especially with him being 31. I figured they would bring in another vet in sometime, so this signing isn't a surprise. 1yr/1mil with 30K guaranteed.

^^ only 30K guaranteed or is it 300

We definitely need a WR from the draft that can contribute not no damn bum im sick of those.

Dont care if we have to take one in the 2nd

Mallet gonna be bombin them to Nuk + Nate :smokin

My only concern is how's the pizza in Houston ?

 There's a lot of good pizza here, but I tend to stick to ol safe and trusty Pizza Hut. That best pizza I've had here was Bambilino's, but I don't even know if that place is still here anymore

Brother's pizza on I-10 and 6.

Mazzei's pizza on west park and Mason.

Those are my go to places. I don't eat pizza enough to waste a trip going to a big chain.

Edit: Nate is going to kill himself if he lives by Brothers.

Some other good spots are Gotham pizza in midtown, New York Pizzeria, and Pinks pizza.

My go to spots are Star pizza and Franks pizza in downtown

These two spots are

Wow, the NFL must not expect anything at all from the Texans with all these noon games  :smh: 2 prime-time games and nothing else. Let's just see what happens....

Texans sign former Eagles RB Chris Polk, and former Giants safety Stevie Brown. I know Polk is here for RB depth and return duties, but I'm not sure about the Brown signing as far as what it means for the other DBs. Brown has a one year deal, and would basically be auditioning as this will be his first fully healthy year since he tore his ACL in 2013.

It could mean something relating to the Swearinger trade rumors (which seems to be exactly that, rumors), but I don't know, I'm pretty open to what this season brings. Draft is tomorrow, damn that's fast

Do not want Gurley or a RB at all. That would be a luxury. We need too many positions.

But somehow a combo of a slide and trade up for MM8 and I'd go nuts.

I remember Stevie Brown had a 1 year run where he played pretty good and was looking like a ball hawk. Hopefully he can show something here.

Honestly dont know how to feel about the draft

If Rick Smith lays yet ANOTHER dud theres no ******* reason why he should be here next year. McNair needs to man up and lets his trash *** go

His 1st round picks are usually money but after that....

Smith is definitely on notice with this draft. He needs to select premium guys in every single round. Can't have any more 1 and done type drafts. I think this is a draft you select the best player available in every round instead of need based picks.

Kevin Johnson Newest Texan
pimp.gif

Some tape on him

From watching him a little looks like he has good ball skills and actually tries to locate the ball. Its nice to have a big CB

6'0 6'1 he does have a small frame tho dude is skinny dab

Marcus Peters is the better CB and has more potential but that would be a risk with all his problems. Glad they didnt try and take a flyer on someone with character problems we all know how thats worked out for us

Looking forward to the next 2 days and those picks

I like the Kevin Johnson pick.

Anyways, wonder what happened with the 32 pick. If someone we liked was picked or if the Pats just couldn't pass up Malcom Brown.

Wanted Jaelen Strong, DGB, or Landon Collins once I heard about the trade. Then it never happened.

15 years into franchise history, we finally have a huge defensive tackle lol
okoye wasn't big enough? i remember when that guy was supposed to bring us to the promise land next to super mario

feel like the texans have been trying to bolster their secondary for the last decade. jonathan joseph signing year + glover quin was a glimmer of hope that was killed pretty quickly.

kareem jackson has gotten way better since his early years but joseph is on his way out. i'm thinking by the time johnson develops, kareem will be on his way out.

texans are always in a bind.

Akoye was 310, but he was another one of those get up the field fast DTs they constantly drafted instead of a tank in the middle. He also played smaller than 310. Basically a finesse DT.

yeah i remember this but he was also a teenager with no ceiling.

edit: found his gem from the past

"To compare a player to White is something that can not be done without much consideration. But the more you see Okoye on game films, the more convinced you become that he will not only have a long, fruitful career, but will continue to grow both physically and mentally. He has such great fire and plays with the relentless pace that made White the measuring stick for all other defensive linemen. He has the low center of gravity to play over the head of the center, the speed and explosion to shoot the gaps and the quickness to even move out and attack on the edge. Okoye is The NFL Draft Report's top-rated player for the 2007 draft."
