What's sad is that Dre could have made god mode but he never had a good qb to deliver him the ball.

Never believed in those playoff runs. We were fraud and all it took was for Rodgers to expose us then we passed around Like a dumb floozy in her own porno movie.
 
True, but still, Smith/McNair need to be a hell of a lot more careful and smarter about these contracts, cause they always seem to lead to something like this. The Cushing contract was mindboggling, cause I could have swear they gave it to him only after his first game last season. It just seemed so random.

As far as the Dre news, just to add on to what I said in the NFL thread, I'm not mad at either side, though in a perfect world, Andre would still be a Texans, and both Andre and the Texans would have a deep and successful culminating season together. That clearly isn't the case, but I'm not mad at Andre's decision to move on. This is the greatest player in Texans history. Gave his all to the franchise when even when the franchise continued to mismanage. Big time salute to him :smokin :smokin

Pretty sure ya'll know Andre's release is now official. It sucks, but has to happen in a way.

Other updates:

Ryan Mallett - 2yrs/7mil
Kareem Jackson - 4yrs/34mil
Damaris Johnson - Re-signs (no contract details)
Derek Newton - 5yrs/25mil

Even with re-signing Mallett, the Texans still plan on pursuing Brian Hoyer. Reasons? I don't know really.
 
Mallett is the guy they want to take a long look at, Hoyer is insurance Mallett doesn't work out. If Mallet works out he's the long term guy, if not then both are stop gaps.

The team probably doesn't like the QB market or the draft eligible qbs. I don't mind it as long as we continue to build.
 
Hoyer - 2yrs/10.5 mil, with 4.5 guaranteed.

Jeff Tarpinian also re-signed, but haven't seen contract details.

Texans looking at Rahim Moore. Would be a good signing, but they could just easily re-sign Kendrick Lewis and basically get the same play.

Bruce Carter visited here, but ended up signing with the Bucs. He's getting 24 mill, probably 10 mil more than he should, so a good non-signing :lol:

Fitz was traded as well to the Jets for a late round pick.

It's pretty clear that we're gonna need an upgrade at the WR spot. Do ya'll see us getting a FA vet, or rolling with the draft + Posey & Martin:smile:x :x)???

Here's a list of notable WR FAs....is it possible that any one of them teaming with Hopkins would be better than Hopkins + Posey/Martin/Air Bud?

Onn a 1 year deal I'd look at guys like Crabtree & Shorts. Ideally they'd like to draft a guy too.

Outside of maybe getting Wilfork & Lewis thy may be done dipping in the FA pool.
 
Ditto to Crabtree and Shorts. I wouldn't said Lance Moore too had I not been thinking he was 27-28 for 5 years now.
