2015 NY Knicks offseason thread, Los Almighty appreciation thread

How did you get those viewing tickets if you don't mind sharing?

If I'm able to snag a few I might consider going depending on my work schedule.

View media item 1596519New scenario:

Dubs improbably ship Steph Curry to the Knicks for the 4th pick after Curry's MVP/championship season. Everyone loses their ******* minds. First game of the preseason, Curry's ankles fall off and he never plays basketball again. :smh:

If Cousins were to hypothetically land in NY, this team would implode by March. It would be disgusting.

But Phil is the GM now, not Isiah. Thank the lord.

Adam Silver would impose a league imposed lock out because it's been engrained that the Knicks shouldn't come up like that.

We'd have 50 wins by March with Boogie
Im saying.

Im not saying we will get Boogie. I dont think we will because I dont think we can at the end of the day. But if you are honestly saying that you would turn away arguably the best center in the NBA right now, who is only 24 years old and has 3 years left on his deal, because you are afraid of a couple of overblown "character issues," quite frankly you are being a *****.

In order to move forward, you need to take on some ******* risk. Any kind of risk. Whether it be an unknown draft pick, a troubled player like Boogie, or signing a free agent for $15 million when he should probably be making closer to $10 million. All players you acquire come with some sort of risk attached. With more risk comes greater reward. You cant rebuild teams without taking at least some chances. Some chances are worth taking and other times it is just not worth all the risk. But regardless, building an NBA roster is all about managing risk and choosing wisely which risks are worth investing into and why/why not.

Maybe if the Knicks had just made it to the finals or some **** I would be hesitant to take on Boogie at risk of him messing up "what we have," but we won 17 ******* games last season. What would we really be risking?! That would be like losing a couple hundred thousand dollars at a casino, but walking out with $5 in your pocket. Its 5 ******* bucks!! Just throw that mother ****** down on black and take whats coming.

We are NOT in the position to stare down a talent like Boogie, a potential franchise player and the secondary option Melo needs, and say "nah, he has character issues. I dont want to ruin what we have." Especially when you consider that Phil loves having a big man presence like Boogie and has done wonders on high strung kids with "character issues" in the past. Even MJ was known for alienating teammates and letting his hyper-competitive drive get the best of him at times before Phil took over.

If you really think about it, the Knicks are actually much better positioned to take a gamble on someone like Boogie compared to most other teams. Because what is there really left for him to ruin? We hit rock bottom. The only way left to go is up. And I think that Boogie enjoy being a part of that process.

Say whatever the **** you want about him, but do not deny that the man is a competitor at heart, unlike that headcase loser mental ******* ****** JR Smith. THAT I would not tolerate. But Boogie is not a loser. He just sometimes gets in his own head because of how competitive he is and how badly he wants to win. I could live with that. That mentality reminds me a lot of Sprewell, a player who I feel that most Knicks fans loved during his time here because of how badly he seemed to want it at all times.

But right now the Knicks ******* suck. If we dont get Boogie, we win 20-30 games. Maybe. Considering what else happens this summer. Regardless, even at our most optimistic, our ceiling for the near future isnt very high. If we get Boogie and it doesnt pan out, we probably win close to the same amount. But if we get Boogie and all goes according to plan, he could be a dominant force, especially in the East. You cant seriously tell me that a team centered around Melo and Boogie (and cap space) couldnt beat the Cavs this year. Grow some balls and take some ******* chances. It is the NY way to get **** done. **** "playing it safe" at all times. Sometimes playing it safe could be good, but IMO this would not be one of those times.

We took a risk on Sprewell before the 99 season and he took us to the finals. Spree coached his ******* coach. Boogie cant see eye to eye with a coach who notoriously drives away star talent. As many examples as you could find about teams taking in "cancers" and it blowing up in their faces, you could find just as many success stories from teams taking on players with a checkered history and helping them get to the next level. Often times, this is the best kind of way to get players of that caliber, because otherwise there is no ******* way they would be available.

If Phil, as a 3x NBA Champion coming off an ECF loss to Orlando, was willing to put everything he built up in Chicago on the line to acquire Dennis ******* Rodman, the quintissential "heacase" who had a viscious rivalry with almost every key player on the Bulls, and make it work to the tune of winning 3 more championships in a row, I think he could take on Boogie Cousins and make sure things dont completely "implode by March." :smh:

I mean, say what you want about his Zen methodology, but it has worked wonders with troubled players in the past. Give Phil a little more credit. Give Melo a little more credit as a leader. Although I know you wont so idk why I even continue to respond. Night

Thanks nick, repped.

And we have nothing attractive to give up for Boogie, so let's stop the pipe dreams there  And you guys said that I was reckless with the trade machine :smh:

apparently the new rumor is DMC wants to play for the knicks now... boy, I wonder how many times I've heard this just to see a player go elsewhere :rolleyes
