You're not owning leather when owning these though. Toe boxes are high grade pleather lol

Totally feel what you and everyone else's criticism on the toe box and I was instantly able to identify what you guys have been saying about it as soon as I opened the box, but for some reason they've held up ok for me. Well so far at least. I was totally expecting that strange fold that everyone had mentioned, instead of the creasing you'd expect on quality leather. I've worn my royal's twice so far throughout the period of a whole day and I'm not really seeing anything but some very minimal creasing on the toe box. And no, I don't do that overly cautious duck walk or anything lol. My gf has the bred's in gs and I'm pretty sure she's worn them a half dozen times by now and hers is just beginning to show some real creasing. I have no idea why my experience with them so far is so different from everybody else who scooped them up.

First post here.  I got my pair of royals today.  Toebox leather is the the worst.  The rest of the shoe isn't too bad.  It's a good shoe for everyday wear, but yeah, weird creases on the toe.​

Any chance that the people getting the weird creases have shoes that are too big ?

I bought the Breds in a 12 because that's how all of my Highs fit, but in the lows a 12 was too big and I got the same creases. I went for an 11.5 in the white/greys and have normal to no creasing issues. Still waiting to find the Royals for below $100.

Seems that JB cut a lot of corners on these with the quality but I still am a big fan. The lows have been a "decent" consolation prize after missing out on the High versions and refusing to pay the current prices.

Nope. Wore mine for about 9 hours straight. Actually bought a size 10 so they fit snug. Weird fold but they don't look too bad.
