The Islamophobia in this country is sickening and quite sad.

Ayo, how does one justify what Allah said on the Qur'an.

Strike at the neck of the unbelievers, is that how it goes? cut their finger tips as well, a euphemism for killing their kids.

whats the context of this?

curious.

Where in the Quran does it say this?

I'm kinda in a weird spot on this subject

The generalizations and ignorance sickening me. But I dislike all religion soooo

But real talk get in many arguments with people about generalizing Muslims

-But whenever you look to a holy book a how your country/society is suppose to be run, you're gonna have problems. No matter the religion.

last quote by Arberry?

wasn't even allah, whoops my fault.

you should probably sit this one out fam

and from my understanding the common translation or interpretation of what you quoted is -
So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates.

but I'm sure if you were really curious you could have googled that,

and for the record I dont believe in religion personally but the way america is dragging a billion people through the mud because some people use their misrepresentation of a religion for evil is just disgusting

so now you're acting defensive bro?

after I said i was curious?

that a great way to enlighten people on islam man...

if you're gonna be so touchy about your religion, why even get involved in a discussion about it? you know people are gonna question it....

telling me i should have googled that when all I asked for was a personal interpretation of the quote....

thanks i guess

care to explain?

Not really,

I promised myself to never jump into another religious thread on NT. But I can understand how one might be upset or feel like im not adding to the conversation by just saying "religion is the root of all evil"

But people believing their way is the one true right way of doing things, some of those people (extremist) are willing to KILL others who don't believe in their one true right way. I.e. Religion.

Americas generalization and phobia of Islam stems us being a mostly christian nation in my opinion.

Personally I'm Agnostic/Atheist, there have been just as many killings in the name of Jesus as their have been followed after someone shouting Allahu akbar but right now the current extremist killing in the name of their god is these extreme Muslims. I say burn them all. (the extremeist not all believers):D

This Isis propaganda is outrageous.

America constantly creating a boogie man to fuel fear and hatred so people here look the other way as this country travels the world killing and doing as it pleases.

Look at the dates above^

Obvious Propaganda is obvious. For years, no one ever stressed or even knew what ISIS was or ever existed....

..now it's a problem? How they get so strong, powerful and impactful though?

... Good stuff 'Merica...really got me with this one.

Can anyone familiar with the Islamic faith explain to me what part of it's teachings is it that drives some of these muslin radicals to carry out these acts of terrorism?

I'd like to clarify that I'm not implying in any way that there is something wrong with the Muslim religion or anything along those lines.
I'm more interested in what part of the teachings is it that drives some of these lunatics to do what they do?

Hope I got my question across correctly.
can you familiarize me with what part of the bible gave white people the pass to do what they did in this country?

It's crazy to me how many people don't see it tho,

like come on use your head no group of people, outside this country at that, could become a serious threat to the United States in such a short span of time, and if some how they did nobody ever heard of em until a couple months ago? c'mon fam.

This ain't a James Bond movie.

Bad guys dont rally up a couple thousand crazies and all of sudden become a threat to the superpowers of the world.

Whats new.

In order for our government to operate the way they want, the people need to live in fear and curl behind our government for protection.

It's really a shame people aren't more aware of these tactics.

Theres also a bigger issue going on behind the scenes.

Push this so the people look away.

"Social control is best managed through fear."

If people weren't *******, and didn't rely on government protection, we wouldn't have a problem.
Murica runs on scape goat's.
Kill the goats and what will be left?

But nobody is claiming ISIS has been a long term threat.

ISIS is just Al Quda's and Sudan's left overs rebranded after their leaders have fallen, if I'm not mistaken.

And instead of being centralized in one country, they've been forced to spread out across multiple middle eastern countries which does make hem a bigger threat.

That's neither here or there though.

The problem is the perception and generalizations of a group of people, which is being falsely blaimed for the actions of extremist.

The United States, around WWI, enjoyed a good reputation in the Middle East.

After decades of meddling, over throwing / supporting dictators, drawing up fictional borders, playing sides against one another, this is the logical progression. This is blowback.

But Ron Paul's the extremist, right?

It is disgusting. Not too long ago I was brought someone into the ER for a DUI, and while waiting for him to get done i noticed a young man who had rolled out his prayer carpet since it was his time to pray. He never made a scene, didn't hear a word out of him just minded his own business said his prayer, rolled up his carpet and carried on with his day. So many people stood there and watched him, i heard "what the @#$!" so many times, or "lol at this dude on the carpet" it made me sick. I just stood there and shook my head at the comments i heard :smh:

Is ISIS and ISIL the same thing? I keep hearing two different names.

One of my college roomates Nazim is Muslim and I swear I would mistakenly walk up in his room whenever he was praying. I learned a lot about Islam from my dude and he was from Iraq, (kurdish) put me on to hookah back in 2003 :smokin

It just goes to show that religions and the religious fundamentalists on both sides are a joke.

Vilify one religion while the one they believe and it's book was used to justify the enslavement of millions and the genocide of another.

You can see the comedic in more places nowadays I :wow:  :smh: when that NFL ref penalized that player for praying in the end zone. Which the NFL had to publicly speak against as a mistake.

You'll throw your arm out with all that reachin.

When will people learn that religion is not the problem.

I've known many religious friends and families who have some of the best values and morals.

It's peoples extreme interpretation of the word that's the problem.

What's the difference between you bashing religion as a whole and the media bashing a single religion?

Your still painting with one big stroke.
