OFFICIAL 2015 LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS OFF-SEASON THREAD (Lance, PP, Josh Smith, Aldrich - pretty nice l

Among other things, the early start time tomorrow concerns me. Have a feeling we're going to get washed again.

OKC lost a close game and they're fighting for a playoff spot? Lord have mercy on us.

Russ and KD gonna have their way with us

Yep. We're a train wreck right now. Only good news is that there's only one game left on the trip and the all-star break is coming up.

If we could pull out a win at Dallas it would take the trip from utter disaster to merely very bad, but I don't see that happening.

We're sputtering out of control right now.

The roadtrip from hell. Yikes.

The AS break can't come soon enough sheesh.

One or two ways to look at the current state of the team.

You could say that this week has just been a Prime example why this is a first round and out team and why people have been so dismissive in regards to LAC. They have been injured, horrible defensively, and look like a 6 to 7th seed in the conference really.

However, I'm not looking at it this way. JJ Reddick's absence was huge and I have no doubt that we pull out that BKN game with JJ, and I believe we would have looked a bit better against the Cavs, raptors, and thunder with JJ. This team isn't nearly as bad as they have been showing over the past 4 games. We've seen this team during their high points this season and that was a contender. While they don't look like anything more than a first round and out team right now, it's important to remember the season is long one and a lot could change from now until the end of the year.

We have to get healthy. The NBA is a league of ebbs and flows. Things will balance out and we'll be back on the winning side of things soon but that doesn't matter much. It's really all about how we're playing going into the postseason. That's far more important than how we're playing now. We're okay.

The Defense is something that i'm seriously concerned with though. I was hoping we would be further along by the 50 game mark but that isn't happening. Very concerned with that. And honestly, if we finished 6th I would be okay with that  just hope that we don't slide to much further down the standings. But we're okay.

As horrific as this week has been, it was still just one week. People weren't high on the clips anyway, so of course they are going to use this week to assess us which is fine.

We were playing pretty well before this roadtrip and this roadtrip was going to be a difficult one regardless.

Yeah, if flying under the radar is a team strategy, this week will be very helpful with that

As stated in here a few times...JJ reddick's value on both sides of the ball is vital to this teams success.

The fluidity and spacing he provides on offense is perfect. And he's NEVER out of position on defense. What he gives away in size, he makes up for with position defense and rotations.

Can't get away with playing Jamal Crawford or Rivers as a starter this year. Darren Collison is definitely mixed. He's at his best as Cp3's backup lol.

Jamal has regressed on both sides of the ball, but his value and freshness on the second unit is needed. I'd also like to see a more aggressive Cp3.

Nice win tonight. Wish we would have remembered how to play basketball a little sooner, but hey. Better late than never. JJ being back was huge.

Those two awful losses at N.O. And Brooklyn really killed this roadtrip. Even the Toronto game where we blew an early 20 pt lead. Gotta play .500 ball till Blake comes back and hope to not lose too much ground.

The NO loss I could live with, but the Brooklyn meltdown was inexcusable.

Two straight victories. I'll take it. A rollercoaster of a first 53 games or so of the season, but we're okay man.

12-4 against the west's best this year. If we're healthy and playing well come postseason, we have a great shot at it. As I said earlier in some previous post, with this team their regular season record doesn't matter. They could win 48 games to me and it wouldn't matter. As long as they are in sync and playing well come playoff time, I love our chances man.

Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better about things than I was a week ago. The three blowouts on the trip were the result of kind of a perfect storm of factors - long trip, injuries, tough teams. They were all painful to watch, but don't say a whole lot about the team. The Brooklyn loss is still inexcusable though.

Very tough call. As much as I think we'd be better with Afflalo or Chandler, it's tough for me to green light dumping Jamal. He's such a unique talent and good locker room guy. But If it happens, it happens.

For Chandler, I'll do it, no doubt.

Afflalo gives me more pause because we still wouldn't have much at the three.

Trading one of Crawford or JJ definitely should happen though. Let Wilcox sink or swim as the back-up two. He's 24, was billed as one of the most NBA ready prospects and can't really do any worse than our other bench players.

I know it's not what Doc does with young players unless it's his seed, but it's the best option we have.

I'm annoyed we have to resume play with a TNT game against the Spurs, considering how awful we've been lately on nationally televised games.

The Clippers have dealt their first and second round picks in 2015 and their first and second round picks in 2017. So not much to work with.

This is kind of depressing.

^^^ And, we basically gave away the 2017 1st rounder just to get rid of Jared Dudley, who is having a great year with the Bucks. :smh:

Yeah but Dudley was awful with us man. Had such high hopes for him. Basically thought he would do with us what he's doing with the bucks.

Doesn't look like we'll be able to get anything done at the deadline, which is expected. We have no real assets worth trading. Guess we'll just see what the buyout circuit has to offer. To be honest I didn't expect anything to get done, it isn't like we were seriously going to trade Jamal or anyone else that's in our rotation, especially with Blake out right now.

Dudley was bad, but he was playing hurt most of the year. I feel like we gave up on him too soon since, theoretically, he was a very good fit. Oh well though - water under the bridge.
