So my barber has a side hustle of being an artist. He's actually really good and he deserves all the respect and support his art brings him.
2 years ago I asked him to paint this picture on a blue scale to hang over my bed:
View media item 1211514He said he would have it done by my birthday (July 24th) I had asked him 2 months prior to that date, and told him I'd give him 100 bones for it, which he said was amazing.
Fast forward 2 years and I don't have ****. He always tells me "I haven't forgot about your painting I've just been a little busy with hair" yet he just sold a Mike Tyson pic to a man and his son, AND there is a Jordan photo in the floor of the shop.
So fast forward to the present (today)
Went to go get my hair cut, my mom drove me. We get there and they are talking about his art. He has a bird on the wall, and she says "I want this for my birthday in November".
This ***** says "I won't give you that one, but I'll clear my waiting list and I promise you I'll have a better one by your birthday" :smh:
So I'm looking at this cat like "REAL TALKING BRUH?".

I know this is very petty and childish in some ways, but I just needed to vent my anger and see other views.
What would yall do?

The president aint eem that busy b

Remind him about it or find someone else to do it. But dude is buggin out for sayin hes gonna clear his waiting list

If you gonna speak on it, make sure you have another barber lined up.

And no, you wouldn't be wrong to speak your mind on the situation

is your mother single? He could be tryna paint HER walls.

I would say tell her to ask him about it but then he might respect you less for not being a man and asking about it yourself and thus know you won't bust a move if he ever gives you a ****** up hairline.

But if you step to him, he might not cut you no more or give you one last ****** up cut.

So either way you risking your haircut for the painting.

My barber has been friends with my pops since elementary, but my parents are divorced
But he knows my mom has a boyfriend, so I doubt it.

And I'll give him a little credit, he wouldn't purposely **** up my hairline, my dad worked too hard on it, he'd kill him

The petty don't prosper. I wouldn't bring it up, BUT I would JOKINGLY tell him he ain't bout no money if he gets to talkin **** about money.

This dude isn't about to do ****. His mom is driving him to the shop and staying with him, has to be like 14. Bring it up though and see what he says.
Yeah, because my mom bringing me to the barber shop DEFINENTLY plops me right in middle school... good job Watson

but honestly thats kinda petty.... n id do the exact same thing the exact same way

You didn't spend any money I don't see any problems.

Your barber is a flake, a flopper. He's not professional. Go to another artist for a painting.
