2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

Anybody in here gotta hook-up on Sixers tickets? I'm looking into getting some for the end of February/early March for my birthday. Lemme know.

So what yall think about that Jah trade in the works that might bring Jrue back to Philly?

The New Orleans Pelicans and Philadelphia 76ers have been in talks on a deal centered around Jahlil Okafor for Jrue Holiday.

The 76ers traded Holiday to the Pelicans in 2013 for the draft rights to Nerlens Noel and a future first rounder.

Holiday will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

Philadelphia is seeking a first round pick from the Pelicans as part of the deal. Alexis Ajinca is also part of the framework being discussed.

The 76ers have a glut of centers with the emergence of Joel Embiid this season.

-----------------

It all depends on what that first round is. If it's this year, id go for it. If next, I'm not too sure.

To get Jrue is an unrestricted free agent this summer is a total waste, no question about that. If it will land us another 2017 lottery pick, then it's worth it.

yeah I will do that trade right now, I don't even care if Jrue doesn't resign

I hate Okafor

I think Jrue will resign. Im confused as to why the Pels would give up their first rounder & Jrue tho. That pick must be protected to hell lol. Might have another Lakers pick situation with that one lol

Jrue's wife has brain cancer and Philly has some of the best hospitals so it would be great for all parties

I'd do the first rounder for Okafor with no other pieces involved. Like some have already said though I'd rather not have it super protected. I'd be surprised if Colangelo could pull that off though .

Pels don't seem willing to do it. At least, not for Okafor alone.

I would be pumped about the deal though. Rue's only 26, but brings a wealth of experience to the team that we need. Everyone I know is so fixated on grabbing a guard in the draft, but I'm tired of the trying to nab stars in the draft alone because even if we did grab a good guard in the draft he'll still need a few years to develop into something reliable. We need vets on the team and I don't mean the Carl Landrys and Gerald Hendersons of the world.

Pelicans want to do the deal but Colangelo isn't pulling the trigger unless Jrue is involved

Yeah that's what I was referring to.

I don't know what else you'd give up to sweeten the deal to get Jrue back. Lakers 1st rounder? Our 2018 1st rounder?

I wouldn't do it if I were the sixers. You can sign Jrue in the off season.also the pick is likely to be super protected and they are gonna suck again next year so basically you aren't getting anything in return.

Plus as I said in the other thread, I'm not 100% keen on Embiids long term health. So I would keep okafor or Noel as a back up plan. Okafor is still on his rookie contract so you aren't losing any money by having him

I don't even care about Embiid's health

Okafor is not a player who will ever play for a championship team, his defense is horrendous

he will be at best a 2nd unit center who can provide some points when your first unit is on the bench, kind of like Kanter does with OKC

Okafor sat out due to trade talks heating up. Get him outta here and lets see what we can get for him.

Hopefully there really are 3-4 teams trying to get him and it drives up the price because I did NOT like the idea of a 2018 lottery protected pick for him

Jah is already acting like he's gone from what I've read

Gonna be refreshing Woj's Twitter the next couple days

dat dude chris dat dude chris gonna pop bottles when he logs on

Why are rumours saying that Chicago is in talks? What do they have to offer?

I can't think of much the Bulls could offer us that would help us besides Valentine or McDermott
