The Official Adidas D Lillard 1

Double socking is too extreme for me. I'll probably use the Rip City for shoot-around and half court games. Wait for the 2s and hope they fix those two things.

Size 9 BHM on FTL/Eastbay

I agree that the Rip City is a solid 1st entry into the ring, especially in a Blazers colorway. Makes sense. Too much is expected with these wild colors that have zero to do with a team's colors. Sometimes less is more. How many times has Nike slapped a South beach color on something since the LeBron 8? Same with the blk/pink Yeezy color way. This entry level model has done pretty well, especially against brand mate John Wall's sig. And if I recall the D Rose 1 had plenty of patent leather and they did relatively well. Not everyone wants these loud flamboyant colors or a special color for every holiday on the calendar.
Mate... look at the shoes that were just posted. A lot of neutral colors but interesting textures and materials.

the only positive to take away from the launch shoe that I would agree on is that they didn't slap some ridiculous neon colorway but the execution was still subpar

man, i have a 20% off code for adidas that expires today and I wanna try my luck at another pair, but all they have in my size on there is the all whites. i'm on the fence :rolleyes

So with the lone exception of the Kyrie 1, how many of those listed with these "interesting textures and materials" are initial signatures? Most of those have evolved and been refined over the years. Things have been added, things have been removed. For $105, these are entry level feelers for the market. And despite what either one of us say, they've sold fairly well. NT is not the majority. Nor are we elitists. The average kid who just likes the shoe is going to get them. He's not on NT looking for reviews and what others think he should buy. Kind of how some of us did before internet came about.

Some people have a problem with the heel fit. And I think adidas will fix it with the next one. If they don't, it's on them. But at the end of the day it's really simple, you buy it or you don't. On adidas' part it's fairly simple as well. Refine your product. If they still want this kid on their roster in the future, they'll give him more tech, especially with D Rose in and out of the picture. Next man up. As a consumer I expect more the next time around along with a price increase. Prime knit? Boost? The xeno treatment? Something.I won't go back and forth with you because it derails the thread because everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Your pics aren't showing up on my screen but it sounds like it is irrelevant. I don't like the Kyrie 1 and I think it is an ugly model but that isn't the point either. I am strictly talking about the Lillards. I don't know what you think I'm saying but I'm talking about the new colorways of the Lillards in this thread. They look more versatile than the first showing. It goes without saying, it is my opinion. I think they should have taken advantage of the materials they are showing now.

For $105, the shoe doesn't have to look like it is worth $105. The patent leather killed the look and it was important. My first impression of this model was that they looked awful because of that. The suede model is the best of the two that dropped, way better. Not talking about adding tech or anything of that sort.

^^Wasn't trying to post pics, but it may have been an error on my part.

And going back on what I said, seems my initial response struck a chord with you. It is my fault for not quoting the person I was referring to. My initial response was about LeBrons, Kobes, Kyries, etc...... so why would you take exception with it? Especially if you didn't write it.

But if we're speaking strictly of the initial drop of the 3 Lillards on that day plus the availability of them on mi adidas, then we can stick to that. My money is on the fact you were not the only person who didn't agree with the use of patent leather. There were/are other viable options. Weber States, BHMs , and the choice to create your own Rip City versions, sans the patent leather. Even ASG's a week later. You'll never get it right, off jump. It was a solid entry, that sold well regardless. Rose City's and March Madness should do well too. I haven't seen a released color way I didn't like yet. Overall, even with the heel slip, Adidas did a good job on these. Im sure the 2's will have things people won't like. Nature of the business. One man's opinion (including mine) doesn't make it fact. Everyone on these boards can all agree to disagree. That has been my point.

Tts for purely casual. If you plan to play ball in them, I would suggest trying them on first.

I'm a 9.5-10 in everything and I went 9.5.  I play in them and wear casually.  I tried on a 10, but when it was laced up tight, there was too much space at the toes for me.

I like the detail on the Rose City, but not the all red.  Let's see what else they come up with later.

Thank you guys for the info. I wanna wear them for casual I like the price on these too and I'm hoping they don't sell out fast, I'm already mad I slept on these after the BHM colorway came out those were really clean. I might go back and buy them since the resell on them is still cheaper then a new pair of jordans

Looking for rip city, Weber state, & bhm colorways for close to retail... If anybody has any info I'd appreciate it, thanks!
