Lol...last thing that crossed my mind.  Besides, very few have the guts to do something like that in public regardless of how bad these NT keyboard warriors claim they are in real life.

I'm just a purist I suppose.  I've never even done an ID, despite being tempted several times.  Have a hard enough time wearing the pairs I have now to toss a custom into the mix that I'll forget I even have.

The one pair that almost made me say F it and do one is @AirThompson's New Love 1's custom.  Best one I've seen to date.

Only ID I've ever done was the kobe 9 MCs. Best ID to ever come out imo. But idk man I feel like the laser breds I made are a winner haha. I'm going to beat the hell out of these. As for the new loves, I really hate wearing yellow. I don't think I own anything yellow lol.

Oh yeah, this shoe is the perfect base for customs (although I would love for JB to release an all white NA 1).

I'm such a hoarder that I have several pairs of each of the 1's to drop so I'm all stocked up, lol.  I'd definitely give serious thought to it if I didn't, though.  Certainly beats paying $500 to have the regular pair.

I missed out on the previous AJ1 releases. Either I was broke, or just too busy with college to notice the releases. Only pair of 1s I have is a beat pair of 2001 breds and chicago 1s from the release before this year's. But yeah I get what you mean. If I had other colorways I wouldn't need to do customs. But hell nah to paying $500 for a pair of shoes that has minimal to none sportswear tech.
 
Decided to give it a go last night...

Definitely should've taped up the midsoles to avoid the paint... 

Gonna try and get the black on tonight...

Ebay. Probably get a pair under retail. I originally bought my pair for 150 free shipping. When I got back home from college I went to my local jimmy jazz and they had it on sale for 109 so I copped a second pair.
 
I gave up trying to find a 3rd pair for under $150 in a size 15 and paid $210 today. I'm going to change my current drag pair into royals since the toe is sticky. Then redo the frag pair.
 
Just got my laces in so now i can finally say im done with these. Sock liner definitely faded since i did them but its w/e.

Where'd you cop the laces? I got the waxed ones with gold tips from laceduplaces and they are a bit short (63')

mines are 63" as well but its perfect for the way i tie them. If you want the same length as the factory then you need like 68"-70"

@retrosnickers. He's doing my frag and royal customs for $55 each. He's got a vid on YouTube doing his royals and they turned out great

He said he would do shadows for me but then I found a pair so decided to go w royals instead
