Just dont report me again
Its too much for an 8 year old. For a teen, I think it would be OK.
Say it aint soJust dont report me again
It bothered me that this reminded me of Ferguson, especially the tear gas part.
I'm also over watching slavery/civil rights movies because it gets me in my feels to see what my people (grandparents) went through not that it's outplayed or anything
I enjoyed the movie but I didn't really view him as MLK Jr
Not even 10 minutes and they called him militant in comparison to MLK Jr
cause we seen the premise of this movie time and time again.... it would be like reading 10+ books/autobiographies of the same person...Malcolm was in the movie for 10 minutes at the most. It was after he left NoI and he met with Coretta. He wasn't militant, but instead a man who had reached a new understanding on his life.
I'm so confused on people criticizing a movie that haven't seen.
exactly thats why i say the blackplotation period and the 90's was the best era/time fro blacks for many reasons but especially in media and music..,,,I will get this film on Blu-Ray.
It's not necessarily the re-hashing of African Americans dark past in America... It's that it seems like that's all black movies are about. Why can't we have black blockbuster drama, superhero, action or comedies? Well, comedies we do have downpat. But what about a Black horror blockbuster/major release. Slave this, activist that. Man that stuff is tiring to see. Black people are just as, if not more talented than any other ethnic group. Let's use our talent to display a variety of aspects.
Does the movie touch on that racist j edgar hoover trying to tear Dr. King down?
Yes, it does.Does the movie touch on that racist j edgar hoover trying to tear Dr. King down?
not true but lol i know what you mean.... blacks run from their past in terms of the prominence, significant, contribution, positive aspects of their past... and there origins and heritage,Outside of X, I can't think of a black civil rights movie that treated its subjects as the diverse, brilliant, and flawed people they are/were as this movie did. There are no saints, just people fighting for freedom and diginity. These events took place 50 years ago. A time when thecpolice could wantonly kill an unarmed black man and not face any punishment. Oh wait......
We are the only people constantly running from our past.
Serious question.
Did Coretta have a thing for Malcolm? MLK seem like he hinted at it during the jail scene.
