Help us plan our next community fundraising project - graphic designers & NT vets needed!

Even with far fewer participants than we received last time around, you're going to make this a difficult decision.  Great stuff!
Testing out uploading as a .png file rather than a .jpeg

Could it be the image uploader on the forum causing the quality decrease?
The format change made a significant difference.  I appreciate it.
I'll see what I can do tonight. Missed this thread when it first appeared.
It seems like everyone missed it.  Hopefully we'll get a good turnout for the drive itself tomorrow - that's what matters most and it's thanks to the participation we HAVE received that we'll have badges available at all.

Thankfully, and to the benefit of all, it looks like I won't have to come out of graphic design retirement.

The more I look at lobotomybeats lobotomybeats 's design, the more I like it. I feel like I'm late to the party and don't really have an idea that wouldn't be biting that in some way.

Good work.

Okay, great.

Here is a .png version of the other design as well.

Is there a deadline?

Didn't see this til now. Had a lot of fun designing the Haiyan badge and wanted to take a crack at this.

To give ourselves the best chance of ensuring that Room to Read qualifies for the weekly challenge goal of > 25 different contributors, we need to go live tomorrow.

I'll consider any submissions made tonight, and then I'll add the official group fundraising drive thread tomorrow afternoon.  For best results, I'd like to have the badges in place by then so everyone knows which badges will correspond with each contribution level.

The badges themselves help us get the word out by linking back to the fundraising thread, so awarding them ASAP to our earliest contributors is important as well.

Anyone still interested has all night to polish and submit their ideas.  We'll also factor in any suggestions/feedback relating to the entries presented thus far, so, everyone should feel free to voice their opinions and share their favorites before we make the final call tomorrow.

Hey, do you think y'all can help NT out with some badge designs for NT's upcoming fundraising event for Room to Read? Thanks y'all

There's still time, but you'd need to act fast.

At this point, @ notifications are handled exclusively through email. On site notification is still planned, but I have no idea when that feature will see release.

I'd love to play by my Illustrator is out of commission since I updated to Yosemite.

I like the book stacking idea. Someone just needs to clean it up a bit and make it more like an icon. Perhaps only had a couple of colors but use like red and then a dark red like in the logo below:

Even something like this would be cool. Perhaps make the badge background smaller. Have NT on the pages.

Saw these book stacking images too. Perhaps someone can make something similar using these angles.

I even like something as simple as this:

Anyways....good luck out there. I am sure someone will be able to kill it with a logo.

Honestly, though, I really do love the design.  We'll be judged by the final product, not the process, and I truly believe that the badges will provide our fellow members with a strong incentive to participate.

I've added mine already, as you can see, and it's a perfect complement to the existing badge set.  We couldn't have come away with a better result if we'd received 100 submissions.

Hopefully the limited designer interest will not be indicative of the overall level of support for the fundraiser itself.  Regardless, I am sincerely grateful for your support on this.

Literacy and gender equality in education are tremendously important, and it means a great deal to me personally that, with Room to Read, our community can make a real difference for children and communities.

Think about what reading has enabled for us individually and collectively.  We wouldn't have this community, and, thus, this opportunity, without it.

It may be an uphill battle to get the balance of NikeTalk on board for this, but it's a battle worth fighting and I'm so grateful for your assistance.  Every design shared in this thread was great, and the support alone is deeply appreciated .
It looks like nosferatus bible.

Nice.
That's all we need... for people to think NT stands for Nosferatu's Tome.  (Or textbook.)

Word.

I'll be donating.

Next time maybe a weeks notice might be better suited to have more submissions Meth?

We got word on this one pretty late in the game.  The Social Entrepreneurs Challenge is already underway, so there's a lot of lost ground to cover and that didn't allow for an extended submission period.

Last time, we pulled everything together in a similar time frame:  http://niketalk.com/t/574471/calling-all-nt-graphic-designers

The original plan was actually to give NT fitted caps to the first 25 or so supporters at the $100 plus level.  I even offered to personally cover the costs of shipping myself.  For whatever reason, that didn't work for Cap City, so we had to reassess a bit and take a hard, honest look at whether this could gain the necessary traction without that promotion in place.

The Social Entrepreneurs Challenge may become an annual thing, and the thought occurred to us that we may only get so many bites at the apple with this.  If the conditions were unfavorable this time around, it might make greater strategic sense to go all in next year instead.

Ultimately, I opted to take the risk.

The schedule is a bit condensed, but I would rather try and fail than fail to try.

Word. Thanks for the consistent effort that you and the staff do to use our website as platform for positivity and charitable donations. It's a principle reason why i've been apart of this place for so long.
