I sincerely hope all of the folks that pool all cops into the bad cop category never seek the assistance of the police. If you sincerely hate all cops, never call on one to risk their life for yourself or a person you hold dear.
I'd argue the majority of cops don't want any trouble whatsoever, much like @Fontaine said.

Blue shield extends far beyond that.
The union doesn't help you when you're cheating on your wife, extorting people for money, or using excessive violence.
Bit what does help is another cop vouching for you.
That's why bad cops effect all cops... Because when the 15% messes up or uses their power too much... The 85% is obligated to stick up for them...
And the thing is... The older generation of cops are so steep in tradition... That they dont care how bad a crime by a cop is sometimes...
They have politics they deal with too...
Watch "The Wire"... It is a VERY real interpretation of how cops are...
They have to cook the books for funding, promote and deal with politics, and deal with the Blue Shield of Conduct...

It seems like you pride yourself in being an adult and being capable of engaging in a logical argument, but you've let the extremity of what dude said incite an emotional reaction inside you that has blinded you from seeing his point.
He didn't equate the police to nazi germany nor was that the point. The point was that it doesn't matter if some or the majority of cops are just "good" guys just trying to do their job. In the grand scheme of things, they are enforcers and enablers of a vicious and rigged system that oppresses certain groups of people.
It doesn't matter if the degree of oppression is or isn't comparable to nazi germany, again that's not the point nor did he even make that connection, the underlying point is that the good ol common rhetoric that not all cops are bad, isn't ******* good enough.
It might be good enough for you, but it's not good enough for the communities who are affected by this issue differently than you are.

And yall are completely naive if yall don't hear are the white voices screaming for bloody murder and applauding it just like some nters are doing right now from the other side of the spectrum.
Congratulations you're outrage and morale sentiments are heard...unfortunately yall haven't heard the sentiments of the people that have been begging for equality since this country was founded. Now you have felt a tiny fraction of the disgust people have been dealing with for generations.
It's not right but there isn't a lot right going on in our country and there never really have been...unless you are a part of the overprivileged

Ole Miss commit Chad Kelly faces charges of third-degree assault, second-degree harassment, second-degree menacing and resisting arrest, among others, after being arrested early Sunday, according to Joseph Popiolkowski and Keith McShea of The Buffalo News.
The charges stem from a reported fight between Kelly and bouncers at a bar in downtown Buffalo, per The Buffalo News report:
Kelly, 20, of Niagara Falls, refused to leave Encore at 492 Pearl St. about 3:15 a.m. and punched a bouncer in the face, Buffalo police said. Kelly's companion, Brandon Hickey, 21, of Clarence, had been thrown out of the bar earlier and tried to re-enter, police said.
Kelly continued to fight with two bouncers and stated "I'm going to go to my car and get my AK-47 and spray this place," according to a report.
The report goes on to state that Kelly would not calm down once the police arrived:
Buffalo police officers responding to that alleged threat stopped a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck in which Kelly was a passenger at 458 Pearl.
Kelly was forcibly removed from the vehicle, officers said. Police said Kelly kicked and tried to swing at officers as they removed him from the vehicle. They said he resisted getting into a patrol vehicle and struggled with staff at central booking.
Kelly signed a letter of intent with the Rebels on Wednesday.
"We needed to create competition and depth at quarterback," head coach Hugh Freeze said, via the Ole Miss athletic site. "And we were able to do that with Chad Kelly."
USA TODAY's Dan Wolken also provided a quote Freeze gave The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Mississippi:

If you're a part of a union, see what happens if you speak out against a fellow union member. This is EXACTLY why you don't see many police condemning Palenteo for what he did to Eric Garner. The trickle-down effect would ultimately be career suicide.
