OFFICIAL 2015 M!AM! DOLPH!NS SEASON THREAD (6-10) / NEXT:

Miami in discussion with Evan Mathis. Reportedly offered less than half of the $5.5 mil that he wants.

Were low balling someone who wants to sign with this org. But I get it, we're not in position to sign him, because that's essentially causing us to lose OV and or Lamar Miller next year (given they perform up to, or exceed expectations).

On the other side, adding Evan to our O-line essentially transform the line. Allowing Mike Pouncey the freedom to assist with the RG or focus on blitz pickup will add additional help to RT. Without a solid LG, we'll suffer against the DT/NT talent that exist in the AFC East, which I contend has some of the most talented DT play in the NFL. Tanne will be food once again.

Dude is about to get paid in FA... Dolphins are strapped for 2016 the last I saw.
If he were in FA 2017 it would be possible. Again, that's the last I saw. Possible with the new Cap and everything though... never know. Look at what Seattle just did... signed damn near everyone.
I like that Pouncey has the flexibility to play RG, I 100% want him at Center though. DT has good run blocking and might be able to develop his pass blocking between Pouncey + James.

Don't know, seems to always be a problem... just split the difference with Mathis and call it a day. Throw Douglas to the right side for competition to push DT and go from there.

That sucks for Geno, heard he was having a good camp. Even though we're rivals, I never want to see anyone get hurt.

On another site one of the comments was "Black Jaws Matter"

As mentioned before, this wouldn't happen to too many QB's in the league. Geno wasn't respected in that locker room. I can see someone getting body the way Cam went at it. But you will not see the likes of Tanne getting snuffed like that. Let alone one of the NFL elites

that's because it is the same song. the problem is, *some people* don't know the lyrics.

to them it's everything is tannehill's fault. that article even concedes he's not the best at deep throw accuracy, but it shows a ton of deep throws that if a receiver makes a play on like he should, this deep throw accuracy narrative doesn't even exist.

Under no circumstance do you break the Jaw of your starting QB unless of course, he wasn't going to sta....nvmind . But yea I feel bad for the kid and that "Black Jaws Matter" line is so cold man ... so gahdam cold

I've been meaning to get back in here. Bought my season tickets for the first time this year. Looking forward to the season.

I agree, Tanne doesn't need anything outside of one series. Gotta keep our prized asset safe

Anyone know where I can watch the Dolphins game live? Online or what have you.... NFL Network isn't showing it until early Friday morning.

All I ask from Ryan is continued progression while in the pocket and he showed glimpses of that last night. He's looking focused and we're poised to see it translated in seasons play

Hyde5: How does Tannehill's contract look now?
By Dave Hyde

When Ryan Tannehill signed his new contract in deal last winter, there was a sticker-shock value of the announced six-year, $96 million deal that ranked him as the sixth-highest-paid quarterback entering the 2015 season. That's how it always is in what can be called New Contract Emoting. There were some loud criticisms, and some more quietly raised eyebrows, but it was all subtly summed up here by Pro Football Talk:

“ … for what Tannehill has accomplished in three NFL seasons (63 touchdowns, 42 interceptions, 84.0 passer rating, issues with the deep ball), a second contract with “new money” that puts him in the top six is impressive.”

“Impressive,” there, is media-talk for a bone thrown to the agent. And no doubt Tanehill got paid well. But this always was a deal that works well for both sides, as the rest of the off-season has shown. Others have signed deals as the winter as progressed – Russell Wilson and Cam Newton, namely.

The deals aren’t apples-to-apples. So much of it depends on when contracts are done – the newest always will be richer. So comparing them in some form depends on what you’re discussing. The Dolphins, for instance, had Tannehill under his rookie contract for two more years, if they had wanted (his cap number remains $4.8 million this year and $11.4M in 2016)). So the contract essentially was four years and $77 million of “new money.”

But let’s line up the highest paid quarterback this year:

1.Aaron Rodgers $22M in 2015 (five years, $110M, $54M guaranteed)

2.Russell Wilson $21.9M (four years, $87.6M, $60M guaranteed)

3.Ben Roethlisberger $21.85M (four years, $87.4M, $60.7 guaranteed)

4.Cam Newton, $28.8M (four years, $103.8M, $60M guaranteed)

5.Matt Ryan, $20.75M (five years, $103.75M, $42M guaranteed)

6.Joe Flacco, $20.1M (six years, $120.6M, $29M guaranteed)

7.Drew Brees, $20M (five years, $100M, $40M guaranteed)

8.Philip Rivers, $19.8M (four years, $82.5M, $65M guaranteed)

9.Colin Kaepernick, $19 M (six years, $108M, $60M guaranteed)

10.Jay Cutler $18M (seven years, $126.7M, $61M guaranteed)

11.Tony Romo $18M (six years, $108M, $60M guaranteed)

At this point, it becomes too hard to compare costs. Alex Smith, for instance, makes $17 million this year – but has a six-year, $68 million contract. Is that higher (2015 salary) or lower (the overall deal) than Tannehill right now?

But the larger point is the Dolphins and Tannehill struck a win-win deal. Tannehill got significantly more money that set him up with Monopoly money for life. And the Dolphins locked up their quarterback at a fair price by the position’s standards.

Delmas is done... smh.
Dudes knees are made of cotton candy.
Hopefully it's nothing serious, doesn't seem that way.

Time to step up Aikens or Ced.

I honestly think that field is trash. Kelvin went down too, same way? I wouldn't let my players play on se of these fields
