Please Lock.

Anyone who watched the fight is convinced that he has heart he doesn't need to go out of his way to prove it.
First step to garnering respect was Murray's willingness to even step in the ring with Golovkin. Other top fighters aren't so consenting. Additional commanded respect was through Murray's intent to throw hard shots and refusal to throw in the towel while absorbing significant punishment to the body.

Maaaaan.....Cotto my dude.....

People were saying he should retire ages ago. I think even as far back and the Manny fight.

Dude is trying to get a few checks and ride off into the sunset. He don't want it with a young bull. Especially one like GGG that could rearrange his organs.

Martinez, Floyd. Those are big money fights. And fights I actually do want to see. Where he gets his check and doesn't take the kind of punishment he might against GGG.

I don't think that fight happens. I'm not saying it's right....but I understand.

Honestly, I think a fight with a guy like Quillin makes the most sense now. Or Lee if Quillin loses.

yeah, in my personal pov Cotto should stay far away from GGG. Unless he wants a nice pay check accompanied by a beating or KO to retire. Canelo would've been nice for him and not as risky. I do want GGG to get a well known opponent though and start making that money.

I can see Cotto vs Rios happening, they're going to use the Rios avenging Margarito's loss and Roach vs Garcia camp angles to hype it.

^^^

That makes sense. Plus PR vs. Mexican on PR Parade weekend in NY? Sheeee......

Khan's name was thrown around. I was intrigued by that match up.

Cotto vs rios? Ehh not to interested in that.

Cotto would get ko'd by GGG and he aint gonna risk that, so id like to see cotto vs khan

I spaced for a second and forgot that Roach used to train Khan (there's actually still a big pic of him inside Wildcard).

So there is a plotline there as well.

Prevailing wisdom is that after Khan missed badly on his dream PBF bout, it would be wise and prudent for Amir to wait for a summer splash with Kell Brook in the UK. I'm assuming Brook will comfortably decision Jo Jo Dan in his Sheffield homecoming.

I didn't even know Brook was fighting again until I looked at the schedule yesterday. Next few months are :smokin

I hope that incident he had doesn't derail him because he looked NICE against Porter.

Wasn't Khan sort of side stepping the idea of fighting him? Or am I mistaken?

Word is Jotto has three options, Bradley and Rios at a catchweight and Boo Boo.

Then ideally a farewell beating from Canelo for some nice $$

April is huge for boxing in the state of New York. Barclays card, Machine/Siberian Rocky, Klitschko/Jennings at MSG.

Feels more like Khan was waiting out PBF's super-fight with Manny to be confirmed or denied. He's long been obsessed with a bout with Floyd, and honestly his style is conducive to causing potential problems for Mayweather. Amir can steal rounds with the fast flurries and rapid movement. His hand speed is as close to PBF as it gets.

Anyway, according to Eddie Hearn, serious discussions are already underway for the summer assuming Brook gets past Jo Jo Dan. June 13th is loosely being floated. Too many plot lines. Former sparring mates for England. On the level of Groves/Froch for national appeal, if not larger. Bolton vs. Sheffield. UK's golden boy (Khan) pitted against Brook, who the British were slow to accept and support.

He was definitely waiting on Floyd, but I could have sworn he was also being dismissive of Brook somehow. Maybe I'm wrong.

So I thought he might still be looking for a bigger name. Hence the Cotto talks.

Even though this fight would be huge in the UK.

Hope they get it done.

Oh, I see your point now. That's absolutely correct actually, if we're on the same page. Khan has treated Brook like a little brother, firmly believes they're on two different levels as fighters.

Since someone mentioned Porter, friendly reminder that Shawn's next fight is March 13th in Cali. He's fighting Roberto Garcia in Cali. Garcia's last loss was 2010, to Margarito.

I'd be surprised if they even come close to Froch Vs. Groves in terms of national appeal.  I still want to see that fight though.
Cotto: No organization owns my career
WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto says he will not be pressured into a fight. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman stated this week that “Miguel Cotto may have a voluntary defense. He can choose his opponent, but the winner will have to face Golovkin.”

However Cotto told elnuevodia.com. “No organization owns my career. I will do what is best for me and what I want to do.”

The Puerto Rican superstar hasn’t made a decision on his next fight yet but said “everything points to June.”

As to picking a Mayweather-Pacquiao winner, Cotto said “Both camps know what they have to do. They will put it into practice and we will see a great fight.” He added that he will be in training and will not attend that fight in person.

Cotto might as well just say he is scared to fight Golovkin and knows he has no place at 160lbs.  Disappointing because I am generally a fan of Cotto, he should just vacate the title if he has no plans of fighting the mandatory challenger. Waiting to be stripped is pretty lame.

Brook vs Khan is very intriguing, and Amir is wrong if he thinks they're on two different levels. Brook had a fantastic showing against Porter and didn't buckle against Showtime's pressure whereas Khan didn't fare too well against Lamont Peterson's. Not to say that fight would be fought in a phone booth but I could see Brook stalking Khan for a majority of the fight.

Still want Froch vs Degale. Eddie Hearn needs to make it happen as the co-header to Brook vs Khan.
