Age of your basketball decline?

I'm as naive as it gets about my body slowing down to the point where I cant play ball. My goal is to hang em up at 60.

I don't feel the same right now at 24, but I think that's mostly just cause working a full time job and not wanting to go play somewhere and work out all the time after work and also drinking a lot more frequently has made me a tad out of shape. I don't think it would take long for me to get back to normal if I motivated myself to get back to playing regularly.

im 24 and can still dunk easily at 6 feet tall

i feel like i can guard anybody too

If you take care of yourself( keeping shape and lifting) you shouldn't see a decline until you're in your mid thirties without injuries

0 pts, 0 assists, 0 boards in my winter league debut. Two airballs, as well.

  how many minutes did you muster up?

You serious my dude?  Ouch.  You visibly exited your prime in men's winter league.  Haha ... not even one dime, or rebound?  What about a foul?  Please tell me you existed on the stat sheet somewhere.

Two 20 minute periods. Plays 6 mins each. Locked up on defense. That's really about it. After the two airballs I just moved the ball...

Well, if you stop playing for a long extended period of time then there is definitely going to be a decline. Everyone responds differently but that's just how it is. Only way to slow down the decline is to continue to play and not take any extended period off. For myself, I stopped playing due to work and eventually started playing again but blew out my ACL so now I'm rehabing. Definitely seeing a decline when I start playing again and I'm only 24.

My dude was basically just running suicides for 12 minutes

34 now but lost my step around 25-26..Last yr been on some plyometric **** and getting my hops and first step back.

Still have a good jumper, but my knees are shot so I don't play anymore. Haven't played pickup in probably five years (I'm 30) and just do shooting drills and games with my friends. In my athletic prime I could never fully dunk, but could get high enough to get the ball above the rim. Just couldn't put it down. I think I might have actually dunked once, though. I forget.

I'm about to hit up an open gym tomorrow night... haven't played ball or really worked out much since November, so this will likely end poorly

Damn, dude said he hasn't played pick up in 5 years :wow: that's wild. Life gets in the way though so I understand. The prospect of that is frightening.

Just finished having a session today :smokin

Yea it happens...when I was married I moved from
Lancaster , then to Pomona and then to Sacramento
. I didn't know anybody and couldn't find any spots where people played so I just stopped playing for like 3 years....

when I started playing again I was fat af...been playing steady now for the past 2 years...
I haven't stopped playing since. I'll play minimum like twice a week now cuz I know the times going to come where I can't play anymore so I try and play as much as I can right now...
