Im older than most NTers and the way and area I grew up was you only hung out with dudes and dated girls your own age/grade.
Flash forward to 2011. Im divorced from a 17 year marriage and start a new job. Within a couple months I see this woman who just blows me away, I mean, I cant get her out of my mind. So I start snooping around to find out about her, her situation and all. In the meantime, we strike up some small talk a couple times a week and really hit it off.
Then I find out she is 10 years younger than me and I figure "Oh, hell, Ive got no chance now". Even though we are expanding our small talk, I figure the age gap is just too big. Mind you, she doesnt act 10 years younger - we are two of the same, cut from the same cloth. Maybe she acts older, maybe I act younger, I dont know? But I decide to cool it anyhow because of the age difference.
Then BAM - one day I see her rocking this tight dress and I damn near hyper-ventilate! I say the hell with the age difference, Ive got to give this a shot!
Turns out she likes older guys and doesnt care a thing about the age difference. We start getting closer and closer and closer.
Now we are married and have a 11 month old son. Never been happier in my whole god damn life!!!! Didnt know there was anyone out there who could make me feel the way she does.

bruh this sounds like some scary **** here, like i know it was tough as hell to pick up a new life. what did you do, start hitting local bars and just hanging with your homeboys?

No hitting the bars for me, never been my thing. But I had some time to catch up with some old friends and that was nice. And the marriage hadnt been good for years, I was just roughing it out for my sons. There was no cheating or abuse, just had grown too far apart.
It was a BIG life change and hurt like hell. The divorce was uglier than you can imagine. But in the end, and now looking back, it ranks right up there with the best things in my life.
I wouldn't say this in person to my friends, but here on NT I will - It sounds super corny, but I didn't know this level of happiness was out there. I wouldn't wish a divorce on anyone, but in my case it was a life saver. Life is much too short to not enjoy it.

usually younger girls go after me but ive had a fair share of both. At 23 (current age) my youngest has been 19 and my oldest has been 38...38 is an outlier most fall between the 20-22 range

How did that work out for you? Idk if it's just cause I was in the college bubble for my early when I was 18 to my early 20s but I started noticing huge differences in the way myself and my friends were thinking at 21+ compared to a lot of the girls that we would meet that were 18-19. They tended to be clingy and their leaps in logic were just so different from mine. Everything you do is some sort of intricate mental puzzle for them when you're behaving normally. God forbid you don't text them every 5 minutes. But that could just be me, I've always vibed with girls around my own age the most. I'm 24 and my current girlfriend is 25 and I couldn't be happier. I don't think I could ever go much younger than a few years though, especially since my younger sister is 18 and I can see first hand on regular basis what/how the everyday average 18 year old thinks. And I just don't see how someone in their early mid 20s who has their life together can connect with someone who is 18 other than just on a physical level.

Eh, it was alright. They can tend to be too involved and clingy or too loose and open. Both because they are so young and still teens.
