"Potentially Historic" Blizzard To Hit NY Tonight Through Tuesday Night

New Jersey Transit shutting down at 8pm until Wednesday morning.  If this storm isn't as bad as the winter of 2013/14 or even 2009/10, I'm going to laugh.  NJ hits the panic button over any small thing.

'78???

@onewearzwhere you at?

I'm not leaving the crib until Thursday

:wow: they actually closed the schools for tomorrow. Not picking up that extra gallon of milk might have been a bad idea.

Dudes talking about its weak when the actual blizzard didn't even start yet
That's cuz they switched it from starting 6am to now 9pm

I just watched dude explain all of his different weather models predicting different outcomes for this storm. One European one predicts 34.2 inches of snow and then he showed another one predicting just about 14.7 inches of snow. Him basically saying he doesn't know for sure but he has several estimates

WEAK.

I'm waiting for the day I wake up real late and when I look out the window the snow is at least 5ft high so I can be like :wow: Snowmaggedon!

I noticed everybody is overreacting more than lately.

Ever since dropping the ball on Sandy, the last winter that you mentioned from 13/14 and a few other things this past short decade the urgency seems to be way more overstated than in past decades.

You're forgetting the part where NYC >>>>> any place else.

So no need to move anywhere colder.
Nah, we actually like all 4 seasons. It's apart of why we're the greatest.
Is there a lack of salt in ATL or something?

I'm not saying ice can't be the worst and dangerous but c'mon ya city gotta be smart enough to prepare for things like this.

damn, I'm mad we're supposed to get some showers tonight  :smh:

What are you talking about?

"An emergency situation, that will be respected," the mayor said, referring to EMS and police vehicles. "A non-emergency, obviously...someone may be stopped at that point. You cannot be on the roads after 11 p.m."

"The travel ban is for everyday residents going about their business."

That includes the two-wheeled chariots that bring food to your doorstep.

"Food delivery bicycles—not an emergency vehicle," de Blasio said. "If you are part of the city government, if you are a first responder, if you are essential public servant," you may use the roads. Everyone else: "As of 11 p.m., get out of the way."

NYPD Chief of Department James O'Neill said "there are a number of steps we can take" against those who defy the travel ban.

"It will be up to the discretion of the police officers involved. It could be anywhere from a summons, to, in the worst case scenario, an arrest. Not what we want to do, we want to be helping people, but we need people to say off the roads tonight."

Curfew is unnecessary. No one in their right mind will be out driving in this weather anyways.

If the snow ain't gonna discourage someone, a curfew won't.

Do you guys get tired of living in an area where you get snow year round? I always thought it would be nice to see all four seasons, but a pain when it came to clearing snow after storms.
