NT chivalry vol. giving ur seat up

Daily train rider here...

Like everyone said, elderly, injury, preggo then ill be more than happy. Other than that, no man.

do you give up your seat to a lady or man with a young child? like they would remain standing but the child would sit...

I've done before, because i felt like it allowed for the child to relax and allow the parent to keep them entertained or whatever so they wouldnt be screaming and such...

Back in my broke boy day's everybody on the bus use to know me as Rosa Parks lil brother cause of how ill my holding it down seat game was

Last week I seen this lady sit down and her kid sat on her lap for one stop. Thought was pretty lazy to take up a seat for.

I'm a feminist. I only give my seat up to super old people or people with disabilities.
I also might take pity on someone (of either sex) carrying a metric ****ton of stuff, but other than that you can go ahead and feel that equality all in your calves and thighs.

lol no.
their gonna learn it's a cold world outchea b.
bout give up seat and let da child relax.
whats that child been doing that it needs to relax?
better tell that child to go tell it's mami that she needs to go bring da stroller next time if it wants to freaking relax.
nine months in a womb wasn't enough time to relax?
bout relax, get outta here b.

I used to prefer standing unless it was one of those long rides to BX or Queens. Posted up on the door getting my calf calisthenics in. Lol

I've seen plenty pregnant woman elect to stand even after offered a seat but that's their choice.

Some get really big, maybe have more than one kid, swollen ankles and will basically give that look that they're tired to get a seat.

I've never really had to give up my seat but that cuz I'm usually sleeping on the train or pretending to. I've never been on a train where a pregnant women came on and nobody offered her a seat.

Why the bump? Could've just repped if you liked his post that much.

As for the question, Chivalry/Gentlemen manners still do exist and are very much appreciated! Especially woman with class, they notice.

Now if you looking for a THOT, easy ho, then by all means, treat them with disrespect. They don't respect themselves anyway.

You ever been on public transit with unruly kids during rush hour? If not, hope you don't experience it.

I meant relax in the that a parent can control or keep them entertained...

Id rather stand for the time it takes to get to my stop than have some screaming kid going off for whatever stupid reason...but that's just me

I shared this story on here before when this topic came up.

I had a job downtown and EVERY day, at the same time, this 40ish year old white woman got on the train at Federal Triangle. Chubby, glasses, looked like Newman from Jurrasic Park.

She would ALWAYS (no lie) look for a younger black male to ask for the seat. She would say, "Do you mind if I could sit down." I didn't like it because she ASKED for it EVERY day. Of course people would get up because of how it looked.

So I was hip to her game. One day she got on the train and asked me and

I said, "Not today. I am just as tired as you are."
She says, "Well don't be mad when I fall on you from standing up."
I said, "That won't happen."

Then some black ladies behind me were chattering under their breath about how rude I was.

Man, I have no issue OFFERING, but you can't take advantage of the privilege EVERY day by asking for it. That is what my issue with her was.

It wasn't a "bump." He mentioned that in another thread. I transferred it to the actual conversation.

Don't question my motives

i always give up my seat for women or elderly
Reminds me of a time that my father (Age 56 at the time) offered to give his seat up to a damn teenaged girl. I was like, "Man you need it more than her." :smh:

You could've just answered it in that same thread instead of bumping a year old thread.

You are right, I COULD have, but I didn't.

The year old thread isn't time sensitive. I wasn't going to derail a MOVIE thread about THIS topic.

Threads get derailed all the time B, you ain't special. Just don't let it happen again, understood?

Yea, working downtown young ladies need to realize that they too can give up their seat to the pregnant and elderly. Sometimes they're worst than dudes. Main ones taking all the seats anyway.

Naw I don't give up my seat up unless it's the elderly, disabled, pregnant woman, someone with a kid.

Most of the time I probably need it more than them anyway lol. Going from morning physical job to my night physical job through the light rail. I need some sit down time

Yes, pos b35, 3 train, 4 train, 5 train, E train, J train, etc. Most times if da kid is screaming standing up they'll be screaming sitting down as well. Most of the little bastards are already sitting down when they want to start acting up.

this too!

I have had 2 knee surgeries, my knees are shot, like Doc opened my knee up and said that I have the knee of an 80 year old man shot.

Just cause my body looks like it was sculpted by Michelangelo, doesn't mean im not disabled too. lol

I aint givin up my seat unless I feel it's necessary, should've gotten on sooner

I sit towards the back so I don't have to sacrifice my seat for older people since they tend to sit towards the front. Women, I'm good on that, people w/ kids it depends. If I see somebody w/ a kid and to me they look like they're trying to do right, I'll give up my seat, but I won't for the shorty who got 3 kids, make better life choices
