The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

No Mudiay?

if Russell is gone but Russell has won me over this year
Okafor is the one person I don't want

True, and Philly definitely doesn't need another big man prospect.

Sky is the limit if Embiid pans out and you guys can grab Russell or Mudiay.

No one outside of NBA scouts have seen Mudiay.

the most I've seen is grainy 10 second "bigfoot" footage.

And it might not have even been him.

Dante Exum lite

There's enough footage on Mudiay in comparison to Exum.

More like Brandon Jennings if anything.

Does anyone actually know anything real about Mudiay?  Like what I'm reading and kind of hoping the Knicks do draft him now.

Nope

just like last year, where everybody was buying into Exum without seeing him play. People love watching highlights making judgement from there.

Unless any of you were at Prime Prep or chasing him around AAU tourney's your all talking out your *** one way or the other on Mudiyay...

The kids considered by far the best Freshman guard coming into the country this year.

PLEASE.

That would be the smartest possible scenario.  They should absolutely be picking at #4 though.

Find a team desperate enough to take Melo that he'll go to (he has a no trade clause

).  Like Chicago.  He has to be able to build his and Lala's brand there and become a mogul.

Dude couldn't even sell sneakers, and he's worried about his brand. Ain't nobody checking for Melo outside of basketball. He's just throwing his money into ventures to let other people cook for him, and probably getting skimmed off the top at that.
Knicks don't have the balls to trade Melo.

Not to mention they gave him a no trade clause

If they move him it admits they were wrong and all those players they've shipped.

Yep.

He'll probably check out by the All Star break anyway.

If we draft Winslow we have to go ALL IN on Dragic or Knight in the offseason. I liek what i'm reading and seeing form Mudiay though. This is our time to get a franchise PG.

Melo for #2 :nerd:

Some of yall put alotta stock into one year of college basketball  , acting like scouts haven't been keeping tabs on these dudes since Probly their soph/junior year in high school ....only similarity between Exums situation and Mudiay is that their both entering the draft coming from another country ...Anybody who follows high school recruiting know that's Mudiay and Okafor were seen as the clear top 2 picks in this draft heading into the college season , they were on their own teir of prospects ....difference is Fans get to see the top college players anytime they want , while Mudiay is out of sight out of mind ...if he goes to smu , he's the clear best guard prospect in this draft just like he was a year ago

The Triangle will swallow Mudiay whole and spit him out.

**** the triangle. Main reason I hate having a set main system because you end up drafting/trading/signing players that fit that bill. Plus Fisher said that he's not implementing only the triangle anymore.

We need to draft the best player available and its gonna be Mudiay. Seems pass first with a high IQ, and fits the build of the current wave of NBA PGs, warming up to him.

**** is weird ...ppl really acting like Mudiay is some type of overnight /outta nowhere prospect , he's been considered a top 5 or 10 pick for a couple years now

l
So was Andrew Harrison

Difference is one is an ELITE athlete and one isn't...

When it comes to HS kids and international prospects, nothing brings more people talking out their ***.

As a Knicks fan, I'm fine with Mudiay/Porzingis/Hezonja. There isn't an Anthony Davis is this crops of prospects, any of the top 7 guys really could end up having the best career at the end of the day. I'm not going to lie I wanted Russell or Towns but its not the end of the world.

Steph Curry went 7...
Westbrook went 4...
Giannis might end up best from his draft at 15...

Having a top 4/5 selections is where you want to be and the Knicks have that. I'm dissapointed but its really not disasterous. What's disasterous is the idea of not entertaining trying to trade Melo. Hopefully we suck and he ******* his way out to Chicago or Sacramento etc..

Mudiay was #2 on ESPN and DX to begin the season.

Personally it would be awesome to have a Wall-esque PG in New York.

Exactly, you've got people who only follow March Madness talking like they're legit scouts

I could understand if people were saying Brandon Jennings because that's a very similar situation, but Exum :wow: c'mon guys do some research before typing up that foolishness :smh:

How are you guys really comparing Mudiay to Exum??

This **** is bizarre.

****** acting like Mudiay just appeared out of nowhere. I can understand the "I hate college basketball" dudes in here...but some of you ****** that follow recruiting/cbb are acting like he's an unknown.

His situation and Exum's aren't even remotely the same.

****** weren't even fronting on Jennings like this and he wasnt even the same level of prospect Mudiay is.

There is no similarity between Mudiay and Exum. There was zero footage of Exum

I do however don't take a high school career as my 100%, number 1 indicator of where they should go in the NBA draft

For instance, you bring up Okafor being seen as a clear top pick coming into the college season. I THOUGHT THE SAME THING as well but I did change my mind once Towns started doing his thing. Does that mean I "put too much stock into one year of college ball"? So be it, I'll take Towns #1 and not look back. There are a lot of INTELLIGENT folks who have Towns as #1 and not Okafor. Do they put too much stock into one year of college ball too?

So wait you buying what scouting says before you actually see the kid play a couple games vs high clabier competition?

You pretty much saw him play in a all star game (world vs us) that's it

That said...depending on what the Knicks do at #4...things could get interesting. If they grab Winslow over Mudiay...it shakes things up a bit. Orlando doesn't need him. Not really a fit in Sac. Denver could take him with Lawson on the move. Detroit, Charlotte, and Miami aren't fits either.

It would have been nice for Mudiay to go to SMU. I mean Okafor showed out in college but a lot of weaknesses were also somewhat exposed. Changed the perception of him real quick, especially with Towns showing his defensive prowess and versatility

If Mudiay goes to SMU, sure he probably shows out but over the course of the season weaknesses undoubtedly would have shown and we'd get a clearer picture. For now his China voyage not to his fault has prevented any real critical breakdown of his skill set

If you follow the draft and like to dig a lil deeper into it then you shouldn't base opinions off a year or 2 on any level , that's how Evan Turner, Derrick Williams and Thomas Robinson become top picks ...you have to look at players starting from sophomore/ junior year in high school through the time they enter the draft and that's what scouts do

I understand that, but you are avoiding my point

Do you have Towns as #1?
