Working brehs, do you utilize your sick hours? How much you got stacked?

- 15 days of vacation
- 10 sick days
- 1 personal day
- federal holidays

Only sucky thing is i use my sick leave to take care of sick kids....so when i actually do get sick (re: sick kids) I just go to work.

Anybody's job have paternity leave? My last employer gave the wimminz 12 weeks paid off. They "allowed" me to use my sick leave to stay at home (1 week)

allowing you to use your sick day or paternity leave isnt that bad. i had to burn up my vacation days when my daughter was born because i didnt want to apply for paid family leave. That 55% PFL payment aint gonna cut it cause I need my full paycheck to pay my bills.

thankfully my wife's company gets 3 months paid time off for maternity leave. She tacked on an extra month of accrued PTO on top of that which worked out well for us.

i get 3 weeks (15 days) pto, 8 federal holidays, 2 floaters, 5 days of personal/sick time, and unlimited work from home...

hate the job and company though...

Right now I earn 4 hours sick and 6 hours annual leave per pay period. In two years I will be earning 8 hours of AL per pay period.

3 hours sick, 4 hours vacation every two weeks. I work the 8/80 schedule (off every friday) so any holiday that falls on a friday/sat/sun just becomes a floating holiday for use whenever. got about 120 sick and 100 vacation time since ive only been here for about a year

We don't have "sick" days...think if you miss a whole week it's only 2 occurrences...we get 8 in a year from the day and on the 9th you'll get terminated. We also get 9 separate occurrences for tardiness. .5 if it's 15 mins

I have like 200 pto hours...I usually take a day or two off a month since I work 12 hour shifts

Jimminy Christmas...

At the moment I get

1 sick day per month. Plus an additional 4 after the year ends.

Something called AVA, available vacation allowance

All holidays can be saved for later use. (You don't get paid time and a half if you elect to save it)

4 weeks of vacation after your 3rd year.

And something called OTO. Overtime offset

Say you work your day off, you get paid your shift time. Plus half.
So for example you go in on your day off and work 8 hours, you will get paid for 12 hours. Time and a half. And you can choose to put any amount of those 12 hours in your bank to use at a later date.

I usually put the extra half time in the bank. And let it accumulate till

I get 8 hours per month of PTO

So far I got 32 hours saved and used only 8

I would like to use them but last time one of my footballs got lost I cant afford losing any more equipment.

2 weeks vacation

4 personal days

16 sick days

Try not to use any of it.  I get paid out for the sick time and personal days that I don't use.  Vacation time rolls over to the next year.  Gotta use some soon.

Yes. Use them. You need days just to yourself. Don't feel bad about it.

This whole, "I work harder than the next man" mentality has so many people scared to use their days.

Use your damn days

Y'all know sick days are part of your compensation, right?

Not using sick days is like working for a salary lower than the one that you negotiated. While you shouldn't abuse them, you're short changing yourself like paying for medical and never seeing a doctor.

And if your days don't roll over and you're just letting them go.... :smh:

Yep I used to be like that when I started. Feeling guilty for taking days off. Not anymore damn that. Americans so condition when in other country people focus on living not working.

I started out this year with 130 sick days. Been working for city for 2 years. Based on the amt of hours ive worked, only 20 days are 100 percent, 110 days are at 75 percent.

We do PTO as well (one bucket). I'm get 25 days per year, and can roll over five if I don't use them. Way more than enough.

Exactly like my job. I think this year I have 41 days to use (carried 5 over from last year). I might use 1 or 2 days a year for true sick days. The rest are all vacay.

Also, since we can only carry over 5 days, anything left after that we get paid out on at the end of the year.
