I know NT general is the Florida of old "sneaker heads"

Surprisingly I've never purchased a lot of sneakers when I was young because of not having the money to do so. I just remember it being much easier to get sneakers and the colors of shoes being much more simplistic. My favorite shoe line has to be the Kobe Adidas line which everyone thinks is ugly. The nostalgia of childhood is what makes me like certain sneakers to be honest.

Now the shoe lines are crazy expensive and the colors that come out are insane. They don't release simple black or white sneakers anymore. Also the sneaker designs of today are ridiculously bland. Every Nike shoe these days has the swoosh in the same area. The new Kobe's are probably the most generic sneaker I've seen for a signature ever.

At my peak 75. Now more like 5, but I gave damn near all to my little brother or left at my moms house

I went from around 200 down to about 45..Sold most of them to take the family on 2, three week long vacations to Florida..Sold some to help pay some medical bills..Sold some to buy some other toys..Now that I'm in my late 30's, and have a son, I just can't justify spending the money on shoes when I could be buying something cool for my family..I visit the sneaker news sites everyday just to see what's going on..And I'm sure I'll buy a pair here and there, but for the most part I'm done with the whole collecting side of the sneaker world..

30-40 at peak they all got donated or given to family members. 10 at present. I still look at new stuff but only because I'm into the tech innovations and designs. I haven't bought a new pair of shoes in 5 years. I doubt I'd ever consume just for the sake of it like in my younger days. Repped for the convo starter.

474 pairs at my peak and have got it down to around 65 pairs. I am in dress shoes M-F and wearing sneakers is a weekend thing only. I would like to get down to around 10 pairs, but that's not happening because I have some many pairs I can't part with. I still keep up on what's coming out, but mostly just browse because I truly am a sneaker fiend. If I do break down and buy a pair; I try to sell a pair in its place.

Will always love da sneakers.

I look at everysingle thread about new sneakers.

Just hardly post in there.

General is the 1981 crack era ny of nt

Phew, I'm glad I wasn't as crazy as you guys lol. At my peak, I probably had at least 20 pairs. Now I'm down to 10 pairs at most. I was/am mostly into SBs. Never really had any heat, I just bought what I liked and would wear. Some pairs from back in the day I still have are the Brian Anderson Dunks, '05 AirMax '90 Infrareds, and Zoom FC Doernbechers. Nowadays I just wear Janoski's outside of work and only buy new sneakers for skateboarding. I still get that itch though....they're calling me to come back to the streets, word to Youngbloodz

I stood in line at DSM today and felt a little disgusted/weirded out by what the "culture" has become. I still buy Jordan's every now and then if it's an easy cop, Flyknits as well, but I never wear them.

I think I have around 140 pairs of Nikes/Jordans total between here in NYC and ATL and I don't think I'll ever sell them unless I absolutely need the cash.

Vans all day, everyday. There's no guilt in running a pair of Vans down to the ground.

I would have more Jordan retros but it's almost impossible to get the good ones these days as you all know. And I'm not paying resell anymore.

Not an og but... freshman yr of HS in 06/07 til graduation, i had about 50prs of Nikes. It was all a matter of selling to my friends for a good price to buy more kicks. Til this day I can proudly say i have never bought or worn a pair of jordans. Don't get me wrong, they're a nice shoe but it just isn't my taste i couldn't bring myself to buy a pair then, forget buying them now with all the craziness.

If i never sold any of my shoes, id probably have over 150+ easy. Im down to about a solid 40prs nowgoing back n forth. I'm starting to focus more in college and with the bills i have to pay, it keeps me from buying shoes. I remember walking into a footlocker with foams and some AM's still sitting, but now they're completely wiped out or ppl camp out for them (like the denim am90)

With that said, my cousin would walk into an Expressions in R.I. and they used to sell Jordans 2weeks early at a time without the receipt. Oh how time have changed....

For those that have sold collections, how do you do it at one time? I actually want to sell all of my shoes, but I don't feel like selling them individually

I actually went jobless for a yr and lived off J's. Probably one of the dumbest things I ever did. Selling all at once is way more lucrative.

I'm 41 and have been collecting for about 25 years. I am currently in the process of selling 80-90% of my collection which peaked at about 525 pairs in 2010.

I'm selling on eBay and doing very well! I'm putting the money I make as a down payment on my new house. I never collected as an investment or for status. I collected because I grew up idolizing MJ. The kids who are buying them now from me want them for a whole different reason.

I still have about 35-40 pairs of shoes that I actually wear. I bought of bunch of older SBs that I've always wanted. I just understand that I'll only buy a pair if its a deal that I can't pass up.

I may plan on downsizing, simply because the only chance I get to wear sneakers are on the weekends. Even then, I'm lazy to see what pair to wear lol/

I wear/buy what I like, not they hype.

Its just more hype than like, nowadays.

The last pair of shoes copped was some NBs.

Of course I still buy. I'm 33, it will always be a part of me. I just don't buy as frequently and have become very selective how I spend especially with price increases over stupid gimmicks and bs. I think I have around 85 pairs right now. I was never 100+ pairs guy because I was selective and had specific stuff in mind, and that was with access to a discount.

32 here....

at my height I had around 100 pairs, and was reselling a little bit here and there

Now I have about 50 pairs. Most of them are in a plastic bin in the attic. Have about 20 out and about on the racks, and of those 20, I wear about 5 pairs on a regular basis.

Children, other hobbies and difficulty obtaining shoes has lead to my decline. Though I have/am planning on picking up a few pairs of ID's over the next few months, I have little to no interest in sneakers I have to work for. If I can't order it online, without difficulty, and for retail, it aint gettin copped.

I realized about 6 years ago i have enough shoes to last the rest of my life.

Bout 15 -20 pairs. More into comfort then flashy. So runners been idea for me

just bought 3 pairs of flyknits last month lol.. probably the most i've ever purchased in about a decade smh.

3 pairs of black and chrome 6z will be copped this august

But other than that, the immortal af1 is the cornerstone of my collection
