Kendrick Lamar IS The GREATEST Rapper Of All Time (Vol. Hear Me Out. LOOOONG read)

Clearly they respect each other's ability as they featured each other on their best albums IMO. The industry would treat him like Flo Rida, Macklemore, or Pitbull if he was strictly a pop act and not respected lyrically.

Drake lyrically is at the top of the game. Free smoke reiterated for the 10th time this decade.

Drake's status in Hip Hop is confused because of his pop/mainstream success. He gets compared to Kendrick/Cole because of this reason alone, not because his skills are on par with theirs (their not even the same kind of artists).

Right now, at this moment, he's not a rapper. He just happens to rap. He's made it increasingly clear over the last year and a half that he doesn't want (or need) to make rap records, I think he does it at this point because it's what people expect of him.

So how can someone at that junction of their career be better at Hip Hop than a full-blooded Hip Hop artist?

I think Kendrick is a better pure rapper, and GKMC is the greatest rap album of the decade.

But can someone explain to me how J.Cole is better than Drake in any way? I don't think he's on the same page as those two personally. Not album wise, not single wise, not hit wise, nothing. Good rapper, but Kendrick/Drake are monumental IMO.

Are we talking in Hip Hop terms? Or overall?

That's the issue when speaking about Drake. The lines get blurred and we start talking about hits and mainstream numbers, pop ****. But if we start talking in actual Hip Hop terms, how isn't J. Cole the better HIP HOP artist over Drake?

Because Drake effortlessly does it. He doesn't beat on his chest and claim the king of anything yet still gets the comparisons even though he's dancing in a wool turtleneck. Someone who happened to play basketball couldn't be compared to an NBA player could they? Drake does a little more than happen to rap, as evident by his numerous Award nomination and wins for Rap Album, Rap song and Rap collaborations.

J.Cole is just bizarro world drake.

Because he doesn't rap as well as drake tbh

Drake doesn't beat his chest? The man who said "last name ever, first name greatest" on one of his first major songs, and has been lightweight running with that ever since? (see the "I'm not top 5, but I'm top 2, and I'm not 2" line off More Life).

Ya boy is constantly trying to force himself in that "best rapper" conversation man. Stop it.

Drake just isn't good. There a numerous rappers out right now that are bar for bar better than the Canadian.

It blows my mind that people can think drake can rap better than Kendrick. I do t really care for Cole like that so idc to even get into that one but in no world does drake rap better.

He said that on a track with Wayne, Kanye and Em on it. Just like Kendrick proclaiming he's "king of NY", no one cared. Only difference is Drake said that almost 10 years ago. We've heard him flourish when wayne ruled hip hop, fast forward and we here him flourish when the migos rule hip hop. Will kendrick have that longevity?

Ask your neighbor if they know any of those other rappers songs, and then ask them if they know any Drake songs.

Yeah Cole is the def the third wheel but honestly, there's not one drake line you've ever repeated?

Chaining Tatum. But no srs anytime I happen to catch myself reciting a drake record from hearing it on the radio all the time it's always a singing/pop song. I hate jumpman that **** come on the radio every 10 minutes and they both were terrible on it. I will say he was perfect on the hook on both but he could've kept that garbage *** verse, wop washed dude.

You're saying this like Kendrick isn't currently one of the most popular artists in the world right now, along with your beloved

Kendrick is currently carving out his legacy and proving his longevity. It's not his fault Drake has been doing this longer.

Cmon man. Im all for you saying you prefer drakes style more. But to say he is a better RAPPER?

It's one of those things I've been forced to respect. I've followed Drake through his whole career as well as Kendrick's. Drake has this weird ability to change your opinion on him throughout the course of years. Whether I'm sucking my teeth to his verse on "bedrock", getting drunk at a house party and singing along to "say something", getting a lap dance from a stripper to "money to blow", looking out the beach listening to "aston martin music", bringing in the New year with HYFR, riding to a chick's crib bumping "worst behavior", all the way to where I initially started, which was sucking my teeth but to "hotline bling", Drake has provided the sound track to some of the most memorable moments of my life. The scary part is, its been inadvertently. I've tried to be annoyed by drake only for him to make a song thats poised to be part of some soon to be amazing memory. I got high and played "cartoons and cereal" the other day, that was relaxing but not memorable.

Kendrick is blazing a path that is going to solidify that his name is etched in hip hop history, of course. Can Kendrick make music to remain relevant for another 10 years though? I mean we've dubbed Drake as entertaining, but is Kendrick?

Drake has better delivery than Kendrick IMO. Kendrick raps like a scorned slave, yearning for understanding. Drake raps like you and your mom owe him money.

So basically drake is more entertaining to u, cool. He's the entertainer, actor, rapper, singer, struggle dancer etc. His delivery being "better" doesn't make him a better rapper. U keep bringing up different situations and different songs to go with your surroundings but the fact remains u said nothing supporting that he's a better RAPPER than Kendrick. U like the versatility, got that. U can be crying about yo ex to marvins room, then holding hands with the homies rapping no new friends or even trynna tell a stripper shes better than this to practice, u like the different moods etc. Besides the delivery nothing your saying is proving how he RAPS better. I don't think anyone is arguing that he's the better ARTIST. Hell if we going off delivery, Wayne, ross>Kendrick also.

 I don't even know what this mean.

Due to Drake having a team of writers he's not even in that Kendrick/J Cole group. Drake is a more talented Diddy, the male Rihanna. Even before Drake got exposed Kendrick always been a better rapper than him. Drake can't touch GKMC as far as rapping, lyrics and flows.
