Chappelle's Back!

I love Dave but.

I don't think this Iwill be funny.

:frown:

I think expectations will be too high...

plus comedy takes practice... And his pop up appearances weren't funny at all

He's been practicing for years and the point of pop ups is to practice and try out new material to see what does and doesn't work.

Expectations will be high but Dave is just naturally a hilarious dude.

I don't think Dave would be putting himself out like this with a new special unless he knew it was at least funny.

Gotta have hope

y'all killing Kevin Hart for no reason, dude is funny

HBO stays winning, this will be must watch TV and when did Dave get his Tiger Woods workout on?

He really ain't funny though.

Welcome back Chappelle, we've been expecting you :pimp:

not really funny honestly. just stuidity. these coedians coming back out after their shamntrips to.cape cod to burn pure coke

I remember when Kevin Hart started to get famous... I was like, the dude from Soulplane?.... Really.... Really???...

The expectations is what's gonna kill it. If its 7/10 people will be upset that it wasn't a classic.

Y'all the first cats complaining about how white people don't got your back but y'all quick to knock one black comedian just cause another one is making a comeback.

It's not even the same type of comedy.
The target audience only partially overlaps.

Does everyone knock Dane Cook when Louis CK announces a show?

This is the first time I've read the name Dane Cook in like 6 years ....

I've only seen two people truly throw shade at Hart in this thread. One of them being white

And there is a difference between not being a fan on Hart's comedy, and wishing he would have less success, or just go away.

You really like to be on this "black people complain a lot, but they always....." type steez don't you

-And tons of people hated Dane Cook's comedy, especially white people.

I ***** with K. Hart occasionally. His old **** was gold but nowadays he's hit or miss. He has the funny in him tho

You weren't around for Pryor
Lol I have to have existed in the same time period as Pryor to think that Chappelle is funnier?

If it's his same special from when he was at Radio City Music Hall it'll be a solid 8/10. He was real funny there but def. don't believe it will be on par with Killing them softly.

Still gonna be worth it.

Smooth!
I can't knock harts hustle but I am tired of seeing him. Can't tell a joke without yelling

I have hope... But like someone said... If it isn't a masterpiece instant comedic gold hit...

Then people will be let down...

And I've seen comedians work on their stuff... So I know...

But his wasn't funny al around... :/

I don't like Kevin Hart's comedy. I respect his energy and grind though. That cat is EATING.

Folks will jizz over the special no matter how it is. It's just going to happen.

Should be on Netflix though.

daves new material is solid

I saw him not too long ago

I could tell when I was there he was gearing for a special

wouldn't be surprised if what he performed then is the bulk of the special

also saw kevin hart and chris tucker all around the same time and both of em were hilarious

chris tucker had everybody around me in tears for an hour in a half straight

Yea, I haven't see any of his pop up stuff so you might be right about that but he got pretty good reviews over his Radio City Music Hall performances and he was still sharp when doing the late night tv shows promoting it, so I'm still optimistic.

I'm realistic and don't expect a classic though, just expecting some funny **** and happy to see Dave back out here doing his thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if HBO won a bidding war for the special, over Dave just deciding to give it to them.

Netflix has been on a serious comedy push recently
