I think you can get your next fastpass once your window for that current fastpass time starts (the time the pass tells you to go back to the ride).
 
The fastpass system for the Disney park is going to be much different than Disneyworld.

Disneyworld is more of an international park, while Disneyland is fueled by local APs.

Wow that ride looks dope. Feel like they need to rework the one at Disney but how could they close it down for a remodel it's one of the most popular rides.
 
It can be done, many rides close for refurbishments, it just can't take too long but to convert to Shanghais version might take a year or so.

It is a classic ride though so there's going to be initial backlash, this is probably why they haven't even tried to adapt it to closely resemble the movies.
 
No, they don't need to touch Pirates. That ride is perfect the way it is. It already went through a massive refurbishment a few years ago.

I would hate for them to remove actual animatronics to make way for digital imagery.

It's a classic ride that is fine the way it is.
 
Yeah, I like how they kept alot of the OG ride intact. When they added the updates of the last Pirates film, I didn't mind at all, even though it spoiled the movie for me lol.
 
Keep Pirates the way it is right now. The only ride that I'm jealous we don't have stateside is the Tron ride. those light cycles are :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:
 
Disney Dollars to be discontinued at Disneyland, Walt Disney World

ANAHEIM – Disney Dollars, a popular souvenir item and an in-house currency at Disney parks, will no longer be sold.

A Disneyland statement confirmed on Thursday the once popular currency, which could only be used at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, would be terminated effective Saturday.

The Disney Dollars currently in circulation can still be used.

“It’s a testimony to the enthusiasm and heart of Disney guests and collectors that Disney Dollars remain collectible today,” the Disneyland statement said. “We continue to offer many ways to collect cherished Disney memories in tangible ways.”

Gift cards and other forms of payment made the Disney Dollars obsolete.

Disneyland’s first president, Jack Lindquist, invented Disney Dollars because of the Anaheim and Orlando theme park’s growing popularity in the mid-1980s. The first runs were unveiled and circulated on May 5, 1987.

“We set the criteria that our Disney money would always be tied to the price of the U.S. currency, so if a dollar is worth a dollar, a Disney Dollar would be worth a U.S. dollar,” Lindquist said in his memoir, “In Service to the Mouse.” “That way, the money could be spent in the parks, the same way U.S. currency is.”

Disney Dollars featured pictures of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and other characters. They were sold at the theme parks in denominations of $1, $5, $10, $20 and $50.

Disney Dollars were produced with the same level of security, “care and concern as any other currency,” Lindquist said.

About to book a Disney Cruise - Srar Wars Take Over.

Anybody been on a Disney cruise?
 
Just booked a trip to Disneyland for my 2yr old son. He's a 1st timer and it's been almost 17yrs since my last visit. Any tips for me to make it a more joyful experience for him? We're staying at the Paradise Pier with a 2-day park hopper. He's really into Monster Inc, Wreck it Ralph & Toy Story. Booked it with Costco travel so we get a dining experience with Goofy I think.

Why is there no Marvel Land at Disneyland?

With a multimillion-dollar haul for “Captain America: Civil War,” Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe has widened its lead as the highest-grossing movie franchise in history.

According to boxofficemojo.com, the franchise has earned nearly $3.8 billion domestically, nearly $1 billion more than the “Star Wars” films and a $1.5 billion more than the Harry Potter series.

Given Disney’s obsession with cross-promoting its properties in its theme parks, why haven’t we seen more of Marvel at Disneyland? “Star Wars” got to take over Tomorrowland and is getting the biggest themed land in Disney history. “Frozen” got multiple shows, meet-and-greets and parade floats.

So where’s Marvel?

When Disney bought Marvel in 2009, one thing it didn’t get as part of that deal was the right to use Marvel’s characters in all of its theme parks around the world. In the 1990s, Marvel sold its theme park rights to Universal Studios, which built an entire land devoted to Marvel in its Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando.

Universal also bought the rights to use the Marvel characters at Universal Studios Hollywood, but the rights expired in 2007.

While that allows Disney to use the Marvel characters at Disneyland, the Universal Orlando deal remains in force in perpetuity, forever barring Disney from using many of the Marvel characters in theme park attractions at Walt Disney World.

For its part, Universal Orlando was there for Marvel in the early years of the 2000s, when the company wasn’t exactly burning up the entertainment business. Fans have long ranked the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride at Islands of Adventure as one of the top theme park rides in the world. And Universal Orlando is spending millions to rebuild its Incredible Hulk roller coaster for a return this summer.

If Disney wants to build a Marvel-themed land on the scale of its “Star Wars” land or Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it can’t split the development and marketing costs between Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Disneyland has to carry the load alone. That makes Marvel a much less attractive franchise for development when compared with “Star Wars,” “Frozen,” or any of the other Disney-owned properties.

Disney is building an Iron Man ride at Hong Kong Disneyland, but that looks to be a simulator ride that will stand in place of Star Tours in Hong Kong’s Tomorrowland. With Star Tours already at all of Disney’s other theme park resorts around the world, it seems unlikely that Disney will rush to duplicate that ride experience with Iron Man.

Is there any hope for a Marvel ride at Disneyland?

Some fan hope Disneyland will switch Star Tours to Iron Man once Star Wars land opens. Online discussion forums have been buzzing that Disney might create a “Guardians of the Galaxy” overlay for the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at Disney California Adventure and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.

How could Disney do that, if Universal owns the Marvel theme park rights in Orlando? The contract gives Universal the rights to certain Marvel characters. But some people read the deal as not extending to the “Guardians of the Galaxy” characters, who were nobodies in the Marvel universe until a few years ago.

So even if Disney cannot create a fully immersive Marvel land on both coasts, it might be able to do something with “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Whether Tower of Terror is the best place to do that is another question.

Crazy, because I remember my trip to Disney trip when I was 2.

They should add 3D projection mapping to Astro Blasters

They are going to have trouble keeping Shanghai Disneyland clean. There is pictures and articles about how dirty the local tourists have it already. Trash everywhere, and even kids crapping in the bushes inside the park.

Anaheim needs a third gate.

The good thing is, a bunch of new Hotels are popping up all over Disneyland. By the time they announce a third park, the resort infrastructure will be there.

I really do not know if they have the space for it in Anaheim.

Expansion seems difficult enough. Didn't they have a little problem expanding where Star Wars Land is going to be? I thought I read that somewhere in this thread?

There have definitely been talks in TDA for a third park, and there is definitely room, on land owned by Disney.

No need for a third park. Both parks have plenty for young and old guests.

They have pigeon holed themselves in Anaheim, but $$$ talks so they could buy up more land.
 
I know that Dinseyland had a deal with Anaheim to spend like $1b on attractions and that is why Star Wars Land are being made and they plan to make Tower of Terror in GotG and make that part like Marvel Land but a third park seems unnecessary.

If they have a third park, it feels like it has to be attached right next to the existing parks to create like a triangle. Disneyland in the North, CA in the South, Downtown Diseny plus hotel on the West and the third park has to be on the East but the space there is limited with the freeway and all.

The huge parking lot seems a bit far making park hopping on the same day more difficult. Plus demolishing a parking lot that size for a third park means they're going to need to buy more land and demolish more places nearby for more parking lots.

I'm probably just overthinking it :lol:

I'm not even sure what else they could add? They have competitions like Universal and Six Flags and Sea World to consider.

Disney didn't create Star Wars land because Anaheim forced them to. The minute Disney bought out Lucas and Star Wars became theirs, you better believe Iger scrambled to find a way to incorporate their fresh IP into their parks. Imagineering a land takes years, so the plans for Star Wars land was definitely already in the works but they kept to what extent they would be building something close to their chest. When the tax deal with the city was expiring, they made a "deal" to spend one billion in their parks, which is what the city was asking for in this deal in order to extend their tax-breaks. They did this knowing that they were already going to build something in the park, so it's not they were forced to invest more than they already were. It's a win-win for them.

As far as the necessity of a third in concerned, it's definitely inevitable. Dinsey has the land to build a third park, and have recently quietly purchased more surrounding land including a hotel across the street.

The parks are consistently full now. You think that's what they want right? Well, yes and no. They want full parks but don't really want the guest experience to suffer. It's suffering right now. In both parks. People thought when Harry Potter would open in USH, that crowds would drop. They haven't. Disney even incorporated their tiered pricing to create the illusion of a "cheaper" offseason and spread the crowds out more. That's not working either. Crowds are at an all time high, and are staying that way even with all the closured for construction. It's only going to get a lot worse after Star Wars land opens.

A third park has been rumored for a while, and I'm confident it's inevitable. You can only fit so many people in those two parks. Another option will be if the Angels move. They could easily buy out that land, move their parking down there and create even more space for expansion.
