You can't go and pick the most ridiculous flip flop especially when it's the last one of the season.

Joy entertaining that makes no sense.

Davos wanting it makes sense cuz he's mad Danny left, mad he left without him, mad he didn't get to become the IF, mad an outsider became the IF, before he suggests this he fights Danny straight up, etc. Plus it just naturally follows the comics.

Yeah Davos wanted to be the Iron Fist from the beginning and he didn't believe Danny was worthy of it. Danny leaving only made his envy worse. Nothing wrong with that.

On episode 11. This dude is a goober. If I hear him say destroy the hand one more damn time. Can he think for himself? :smh: [emoji]127997[/emoji]‍♂️

A minute into the Into the Badlands season premiere and I think I like it less.
 That's unfair. I to the Badlands is SUPER choreographed. Early complaint was it was a little too choreographed and took away realism.

How many ppl are super skilled swordsman or elite fighters?

Ep 1 of that show I knew IF wouldn't measure up.

And I disagree with the Hand being better in DD. They were cool in DDS1 because they weren't fleshed out yet. They were shadowy. In DDS2, that subarc with all that stuff and Elektra was uninteresting. Honestly, outside of the Punisher, I don't even remember much about Season 2. I liked what they did with them so far in IF. I like the idea of their being trouble within the Hand and Gao's faction being an offshoot of the organization at large.
Yeah the Hand usage and twist in this was great.

They were just one of like 5 or 6 other crime orgs in DD s1. Then in S2 we get some Hand stuff out of the DD comics with Elektra, their resurrection thing, and the other leader in Yoshioka.

For me...

Episodes 1-5 did great ground work in establishing roles, goals and the overall story.

Episode 6 was absolutely lit and from 6-13 I have no complaints worth mentioning.

Even the ending was

( I don't know why I waited until after credits for a sneak peak though, for some reason I thought that was a thing, apparently not

)

It sometimes is.

I wasn't expecting a Defenders hint or sneak peek. It's coming like this summer I assume.

I mean I hope, I just remembered JJ s2 doesn't debut until 2018 even though it starts filming right after Defenders and DD s3 premiered in 2018 too.

Overall, this season gets a 5.9/8 from me.

Look forward to s2. Really look forward to more Colleen and Danny in Defenders.

I give up. Can y'all explain this /8 system. I can't take it anymore.

A poster in one of the movie threads (a rare movie thread NOT started by RFX) came up with the out of 8 system as a joke, and all the regulars from that thread has used that rating system ever since.

Don't worry. Pretty sure the madness is relatively self contained and won't spread beyond that thread.

Not as a joke, as life.

/5
/10
/100

All arbitrary *** numbers. So rck came up with /8, another arbitrary rating number, and it is genius.

Not a joke. People that use the outdated /10 rating system, they the joke.

I still have yet to learn how to use thia system. Enlighten thee. I seek knowledge.

I've seen a meme or something on YouTube comments or other sites where people say "gr8 b8 m8 I r8 8/8". First time I read it, I burst out laughing.

so about 6 episodes in

god the fight scenes are awful

and ah, the asian love interest. shouldve seen that coming

i'll probably end up finishing this just cause of defenders.

Finished. The show wasn't bad. How can the other Netflix Marvel shows get better reviews? This was about the same level of quality as the others. The fighting definitely improved as the season progressed. Is Davos working with Gao now or was she following him? :nerd:

Although I binge-watched through it over the weekend, I didn't think it was as good as the other Marvel Netflix series. I had a few issues with it:

- Pacing was very slow, although it was also slow in the other series, they seemed to focus on his 'Danny Rand' corporate character way too much for first 5 or 6 episodes, and ended up not being an important part of the story. Reminded me of Arrow, but they had 25-26 episodes on their first season. Didn't work as well when you're cramming it into 13.

- I was under the impression that the origin story would take place in K'un L'un for the first few episodes at least. I would have much rather seen him in that dynamic (or at least more flashbacks of it) than focusing on getting his company back.

- He's supposed to be fully trained by the time he got to NYC and also supposed to be arguably the best martial artist in the Marvel Comic Universe. They went a slightly different route and didn't the do the character justice, especially with the weak fighting choreography. He also didn't seem all that likable in the second half of the series. Danny is literally still a 10 year old boy in an adult body. I see why they did that though.

***note*** I liked the previous Iron Fist in Bakutos video more than Danny Rand. lol

- I don't understand why Joy ended up wanting to kill Danny. He did nothing wrong, especially finding out that her dad is alive and a lunatic and her brother blaming him for everything towards the end. Seemed like poor writing on that part.

- Bakuto's division of The Hand became way too humanized and consisted of a bunch of chumps and kids. Ruined it for me. The Hand was way better represented in Dare Devil. The ambiguity and implication of a higher power made them way more bad***. Hopefully Madame Gao brings the heat for future seasons is whatever series she takes part in.

- No Immortal Weapons introduced (ties my complaint into not taking place in K'un L'un). :smh: Big disappointment there. They had their version of Bride of Nine Spiders, but she was terrible.

6.5/10

I also never saw Danny look as a deadly weapon at all, again maybe it's the choreography though it's likely the actor, his movements just didn't feel real and as I've said it before, when he does his meditations or chi-recharge, he looks so awkward like he is some noob doing P90X for the first time.

And I think it is bad how it was done because they were showing him beating mostly everyone but it still didn't look convincing and really he only used the Iron Fist a handful of times and the one time they were suppose to look impressive (that punch to the ground) it looked very underwhelming.

I also know it's a cliché but I still hated it that Harold could all of a sudden get the upper hand on him and all of a sudden getting him easily when before he would dance around other attacks.

I think this was my biggest problem of the whole series.

Also didn't like the Hand, they felt a lot less threatening.

Agreed on the Harold part. I was wondering why he was getting washed by Harold at the end when he plowed through the Hatchet Men with ease (word to Jason Statham).

The choreography and fighting had so much potential with the different fighting styles (Hatchen Men, Scythe, Bride of Nine Spiders fighting scene, Drunken Master, Davos) but the choreography and training of the actors felt super weak. I'm glad I 'm not the only one who thought that. They definitely could have done a way better job. Personally, I think the actor playing Davos would make a better Iron Fist capability wise.
