From the MMLP - 8Mile/The Eminem Show Period, dude couldnt be stopped. Period.

It's terrible to say, I know, but I miss Em being on drugs. :smh:

Musically, that guy was something special.

But it's so true bro.
Or being heart broken.
Was listening to Bonnie n Clyde.
Song was incredibly amazing. Disturbing of course BUT DAMN it was good. The visual that this dude used to give you. Dope [emoji]128076[/emoji]

Eminem and Lupe skillwise are the best rappers period. (not a derail, just showing love)

undeniable talent

I remember listening to this rare tim westwood freestyle tape feat d12

some of the coldest verses I ever heard

pretty much this. his decision to take over the bulk of production duties on his LPs killed my interest. The Eminem Show was good, but by the time Encore came around I couldn't be bothered.
Pretty much the same here. He peaked on eminem show. Now his voice and flow sound so forced like he's learning to rap again. Dude literally hasn't dropped a great song in 13 years.

I guess i missed the hype train on Marshall, i never thought he good at all, if i want to hear screaming over beats ill listen to speed metal

His last few albums have had lyrics, his flow is trash now. Can't listen to him. Last good Em album was Relapse.

Screaming? He wasn't screaming during that 99-04 run.

^He produced The Eminem Show almost in it's entirety, which is still his best album to date. After that, both Em's beats and his rapping became a problem. Those awful accents, screaming and trying to fit 37 syllables into 2 bars do not more for an appealing record. Doing songs with the very types of people he wouldve washed on diss records doesn't help either, but that's also the reason he's stayed at the top of the charts.

This is where I differ with a lot of folks. That album was merely very good, but certainly not his best work; and his production is one of the biggest reasons why. MMLP>SSLP>TES

The problem is at this point he just focuses on being technical. It's all about how difficult he can make the rhyme scheme, and while it can be impressive at times.. That doesn't always translate to good songs. Because it doesn't have him focus on concepts and stories.. It has him focusing on how can he make this verse more complicated.

It's like a guy whose done it all, and now just does it for his own challenge and amusement. Doesn't matter to him if it's great, it only matters if he can accomplish the challenge he sets forth in a verse.

That being said, he still has something left in the tank. But he doesn't want to make what we want... And for the most part I think we want (or at least I want) a more vulnerable Eminem as opposed to trying to bring back zany Eminem with childish humor. That's why the MMLP2 was a mixed bag. When he had a story behind the song it was fine, when he tried to be Eminem telling jokes, it fell flat.
