Instead of finding a new job in Stafford I've been thinking about just transferring to my company's location out there.
So I'm heading out to Houston tomorrow to see If I really want to move there.
Any recommendations on where to go to get a vibe for the place?
For sure going to the Galleria!
Also are there any nice apartments f0r around 800-1000 in the North Western part of town. I want to stay as close to the loop.

gonna be in Houston for a wedding in august. i'll be there Friday morning - Sunday morning.. wedding is on Saturday. Any MUST TRY spots? I'll probably have the whole Friday and Saturday morning to hit up these places.

I would say Galleria, Montrose, Upper Kirby area, Main street in Downtown, Midtown, Hermann Park.....off the top of my head
yea there's a few nice apartments in the northwest side of town that's a good drive to the loop. i think a bit outside the loop like around the Beltway loop have some good apartments. i think the zip codes are 77064 and 77065. See what you can find. I don't have any recommendations, but maybe someone here that stays in the area can help

When you say Northwest that can cover a pretty large area. Also anything around the inner loop that is nice and new will be 1k and up for one bedrooms. Also you can check out Premium Goods in Rice Village. What are you going to be staying in?

i went today. no line...if you can make it on a weekday. might be a short wait but i came with 7 other people and we only had to wait like 10 mins
edit...sorry didnt see you will only be there on the weekend.
you should also try the papadeaux sunday brunch on kirby. its amazing...or charascos sunday brunch.
you'll have to get there early too

Free to get in. You bring your own food and liquor. 1 dollar for early bird and I think 5 bucks for all 10 games. Pretty good deal. Only downside is the long wait

Austin is pretty much for Caucasian hipsters and/or yuppies. In my opinion obviously..much more culture in Houston

You know how people say a place is nice to visit but they wouldn't live there? I feel like Houston is the opposite. I thought it was wack and boring during my first few visits but grew to love it after living here. Weird I know
