HP pro book

I had one at my last job and I loved it...

Had a very premium feel to it... The battery was flames.

Super light...

I'm trying to not go over $500 doe...

Any other suggestions would be nice...

Here were the specs for the machine from my old gig

HP type P640.
Intel i54300 M cpu
Solid state hard drive

I searched it and the prices came in super high, but I think k it's because the processor was more boss.

I'm not looking for an i7 deal to play games on...

Just something for a small business, grad school, a little fappage, and light with a decent battery

I'm subscribed to slick deals... They show a lot of lenovos... I have one at my current job and I don't like it at all.

It seems like you already know what you want. fast processors aren't just for games. they dictate how smoothly your apps will operate. I'm spoiled. I don't like waiting on programs to open, close, bring up a file, search files slow, etc.

I think people who buy inexpensive laptops will inevitably replace them with a better one that they didn't think they needed. I'd look at Asus as the brand in that range.

Just remember NT Official Products include, da m3, da hemi, Jordan brand sneakers, supreme brand clothing, and da Macbook

I already know that the macbook will come up...

I'm too tied to Windows, custom Roms, Microsoft office, and the shortcuts to change it...

Maybe layer, but not now

And when it comes to laptops, I'm pretty good with them... I still have my computer from 2009... Running windows 7 pro, and serves as a bit of media home for my projector, watching TV, etc...

This one might get more use, but I can replace it in 3 to 4 years. I like new gadgets anyway.

HP computing sucks. Go with Asus.

I've never had an ASUS...

Only HP, dell, and now lenovo...

How would you rank them in order?

#labtop

But yea, I dont think you can go wrong with HP, Lenovo, Asus or Dell. Any of those brands should do

If you do everything in a browser anyways, look at a Chromebook. For $300, it has an SSD and access to everything you already do online without the virus risk.

Just my opinion, but I don't go anywhere near HP's. The parts they use are the lowest of the low grade and filled with crapware.

Lenovo was recently caught with their hand in the cookie jar after it was found they were pre-installing their laptops with adware that broke the encryption in the browser. So basically anyone could spy on you while you were doing your banking, Facebook, and email.

If you're stuck on a "lab-top" Increase your budget to $600 and you should be able to get something that should last you another year or two. I like Dell & Asus personally.

You can get an Asus with an i7 microprocessors, video card, and other better features for much cheaper compared to other brands like Dell.

If all you need is an i5 you can definitely find one for about your price range. I don't know if it'll have a solid state drive though.

Mine has been running fine since 2012. Just a little overheating but taking apart and cleaning it fixed it.

Looked at Chromebooks but the lack of Microsoft office doesn't do it for me...

Plus I do customizations on phones... Can't install the necessary programs on google (you probably can, but I don't feel like learning all that ****)

Increasing my budget isn't that big of an issue...

I plan on spending some cashe flow so that won't be much of a reach

How important is SSD? I keep hearing people talk about it..

Can I function without one? Will I ever be able to use a non SSD afterwards?

:nerd:

Just copped a lenovo y50, **** is pretty fast. Booted up and got to surfing in 5 seconds. Man technology is getting scary fast

I've had bad luck with laptops over the last 5 years or so. I had an Asus laptop where the DC jack went bad within the first year and a half and they made it super annoying to get in and replace. After that I bought a Toshiba satellite laptop and within the first year both hinges busted from normal use and the screen wouldn't stay up. I think it was a design flaw because my mom bought a Toshiba laptop a year or two later and the design was improved. I ended up having to connect it to my TV for a while and use that as my screen. I'm currently on a 7-8 year old HP laptop that I got from a Hospital I worked at last year. I did an IT job there and they were in the process of destroying hundreds of PC's and laptops and I was able to snag a few. I don't expect this laptop to last too much longer so I know I'll be in the market for something else sooner or later.

SSD > any other hd.

I've had two HDs fail in two desktops right now. One is an Acer and the other a Dell. A SSD has no moving parts so less chances of failure. As always though, have everything backed up on multiple HDs. I have all my porn backed up on a 5TB HD. That is backed up onto two 3TB hybrid drives. Those are also backed up onto 10 Blue ray discs. Those discs are backed up to about 50 dvdrs. Those are backed up on an assortment of flash drives stored in my secret stash.

get this, step up and start dancing broh :smokin

IG models?

Heck nah.

Hard core, twerk videos on YouTube... That's about it

Plus I'm not dropping that much for a damb fap box.

Just saw you're using for a small business and grad school.

What programs will you be running for your business? If it's just office just get something like an Asus transformerbook and call it day unless you need a real labtop.

My job gave me a Surface Pro for work, I liked it so much I went out and copped the Surface Pro 2.

Its crazy fast and there's nothing like having a true computer that's the size of a tablet

sager/clevo and its resellers make the BEST laptops

I meant like i bought an np8690 for 2k in 09 and it had i7 820 quadcore with 4gb 1333 mhz ram and a 280gtx vid card. This was powerful back then and that was a time when macbook pros were getting hype, thing was pros didnt even have quad and a 256 bit vid card and apple charged about 2.1k with tax/shipping

In my experience any laptop less than 1k just dont hold up as much as more expensive laptops. Ive had a 700 dollar dell malfunction when i dropped it on the floor.

I know you dont want above 500 dollars and i7 but sager got

15.6 inch full hd Np2650 with i7 4710mq (upgradeable)
Intel hd 4600
8gb ram 1600 mhz
Win 7 or 8 pro $50 upgrade
And various hdd ssd options add $100 something

before upgrades tax shipping it start at $899

lenovo is pretty good and dell business latitudes may be a "decent" option.

Good luck

Not to thread hijack but I was looking for a netbookish small laptop thingamabob. Do you guys recommend something that could allow me to do word documents and surf the web, and maybe some photography stuff?
