and yall were slandering westbrook these last couple years..

now cp, rose and rondo all got they hands dirty

Shoe was saying they didn't even need CP to beat HOU but now it's on the role players.

CP3 really did have a mean looking stat line though.

If he had gotten the ball rolling a little sooner they might've been able to salvage the game. Most of his damage came in the second half when they were already in a bad way. While I do agree with wins being a team accomplishment I do think you can fault CP3 for finally getting aggressive a bit too late.

Austin Rivers had 17 points. JJ Redick. MATT BARNES HAD 20 POINTS. Jamal Crawford had like 17

You have a habit of quoting my statements without providing context. If we get that production from those guys, based on what I saw during the regular season, I absolutely believe we could have kept up with H Town. Beating them was a stretch, but we would have competed if that production was brought every night.

He does it all the time man.

So basically what Clippers fans are saying is they got this far because of their role players?

Meaning if it wasn't for Barnes, Redick, JCrawford, and Rivers they would've lost to the Rockets in 5 or 6 games?

I remember Clippers fans saying the Rockets didn't have a chance at all before the series started, even worse when they went up 3-1, now all of a sudden "our role players went cold"

C'mon guys, just accept the well deserved slander for the choke job

Like I said, I'm not saying it wasn't a choke job but to ignore how vital JJ, Jamal, Austin, and Matt Barnes have been in this playoff run is silly. We go down 3-1 to SAS without Austin's game 4. We lose game 7 without JJ and Matt Barnes scoring 17 points. We lose game 1 against Hou without 17 points from Austin and 20 from Matt.

We kind of did get this far because of our Role players. Obviously, Blake and Cp and DJ are huge but we don't win without JJ Redick. Our role players went extremely cold and we flamed out. That's not a coincidence. I don't know what you were getting at there either but it was true

so you're saying they over achieved then?

Yes. I said it earlier today that part of the Clips looking so good for most of this postseason was due to doc getting uncharacteristically great performances from the bench and role players.

I falsely thought they could keep up their level of play but regressed very quickly and it played a large part in them losing the series. So in a way, they did overachieve because for a full 82 most of those guys were awful and guys like JJ and Matt, just went stone cold. Whether it be to rocket defense, them choking, or whatever the case they did.

so if it was uncharacteristic, then they didn't choke. Just the law of averages.

Nah Shoe, I'm not buying it my boy  .. the way ya was in here parading around before the series and during the series, I just can't accept how big your trying to make the role players going cold argument.

MAYBE if you guys emphasized how important their roles were during the playoff run prior to the epic collapse, I would be on-board with it. Right now though, I just can't get jiggy with it. I did not see one post that said "if our role players keep it up we will win this series"

1) If you look hard enough you absolutely can find me talking about how Doc Rivers did a great job of actually getting some production from the bench. Misguided and ignorant of me to ignore the law of averages, but I absolutely mentioned it

2) I'm talked about JJ Redick, Austin Rivers, and Matt Barnes at length in here and in this thread. Just look at my comments regarding Game 7 against SAS, or Game 4 against SAS. Even in the Clipper thread, one simple search shows me calling JJ Redick our most important player.
