I have no issue with gay or transgender people if that's who you are be you but the media is clearly promoting and pushing this lifestyle. First Michael Sam gets the courage award now Bruce Jenner. C'mon. It's a oke.
How exactly is the media pushing or promoting this lifestyle? You sound ignorant af with that comment.
This is the first time that a well known celebrity has done this and regardless if you agree with it or not, it's a huge story. This brings the conversation of transgender people to the spotlight and if anything is attempting to educate the general public. This is how people start to open their minds to things they aren't informed about.
Clearly by some of the responses in this thread this goes against how a lot of people were programmed to think. I know a lot of you guys will remain cynical, apathetic and skeptics no matter what anyone tells you, but at least attempt to have respect for a fellow human being.

I think a lot of people in here respect Bruce/Caitlyn as a person.
What most are shaking their heads at is the media's portrayal as this being something so brave, heroic and courageous in 2015. This is essentially cosmetic surgery. A reality star worth a whole lot of M's getting a sex change is not courageous to me. (I understand his Olympic history, he's known now a days for his reality persona)
Is it surprising and a front page story with discussion? Absolutely. But the idea that you are transphobic if you don't support or see this as a brave, monumental moment is something that has gained a lot of traction. You can be open minded and respect everyone without having to support everything.
RuPaul becoming the first Drag queen supermodel is much more impressive to me.

Lol i remember my sister was moving into her dorm room and her roommate left a note about herself and a photo.
My dad is old school. And he looked at the girls photo and was furious and demanded another room for my sister because "she shouldn't have to share a room with another guy". Lol I lost it. Pops thought she was a he. Haha. But it was some butch.
