co-sign on the gratifying part. Plus it always saves money to do your own labor. I would change my own oil even when my new car had its warranty....dealership service guys always overtighten the filter and drain plug.
oil changing is good to know if the closest shop is 15+ miles away, but the cost and labor is actually equal
if you cant change your own oil faster than 45 minutes then it might even be pointless to do it on your own
