There are enemies in the Glowing Sea, you are better off fighting them with the armor...lol specially those Damb MOSQUITOS!!! I hate those things :x
 
I have yet to use any power armor other than the first Minutemen mission.

Taking the castle was

Stumbled upon a passage to the Castle Sewers and basically completed a mission before initiating it.

Word to the wise, if/when you go down there strap the hell up.

I went to the castle..... Continuous fades over there. I'm not going back until I'm level 25 at least and have some guns that aren't crap.

Even with the mines it's not gonna happen. I'm only level ten though I shouldn't be over there in the first place.

The fact that iIran into like 20 super mutants on the way over was enough to tell me that. All iIhave is the Pipe rifle and a legendary shotgun :lol:

level 10 is a little too low to attempt it I think.   But molotovs seem to do pretty well against the boss.

Anyone get the X-01 power armor?  Got mine a few day ago and I finally hit level 41 so I can beef it up like crazy.

I still think 20 mines would send that thing across the water, tho.

X01 Armor is insane, I need to rank up Armorer so I can updgrade it.

Do you guys walk to the locations with your armor? Or fast travel once you discover the location. Only ask because its a long walk from my location to the castle.
 
Too busy roaming to get the levels up.

The one thing I don't like about the Internet when it comes to rpgs is that iIalways find out tips to avoid screwing up. I found out that you shouldn't grab power armor you find at low levels cause then you won't get stuff like the X-01 so I've found two sets that jIjust left locked up and wjkkg

The X-01 has a guaranteed drop at a certain location if you are high enough level (28+), but actually getting to it is pretty difficult anyways so you should still be able to nab it.

There is some exploit to get easy exp (i think) by doing the repeatable BoS missions, but I didn't go with their faction.
 
Fastest way to level up imo is to beef up your intelligence and have piper as your follower and then just search for new fast points. And also do those repetitive side quests, they are easy and they give lots of xp.

The best gun is overseers guardian that you can buy in vault 81. It shoots 2 bullets at a time. I have it fully upgraded with rifle man perk and I can pretty much one shot anything.
 
Le Fusil Terribles is my favorite atm. Unique shotgun that wrecks.
I love the Deliverer too.
Got 2 great guns from legendary enemies as well yesterday. A gauss rifle that does 50% more limb damage and a plasma rifle that does double crit damage and recharges the crit meter 15% faster.
Just found a unique power armor chest piece as well. Radiation increases action point refresh rate.

Im rolling with MacCready now. I was getting some of that weird robot synth loving but Curie was keeping me too clean. I need to be a savage out here and MacCready down for the clown.

The castle is no joke. Finally beat it last night. Im level 34 on very hard and it took me like 45mins. I kept blowing myself up though :lol:

If you want to level up grab that idiot savant perk in the luck tree. Level 2 of the perk give you 5XP randomly. I did a side quest that netted 1700 XP because the idiot savant perk kicked in. At max level the perk gives you random XP and then every kill for a limited time is 3XP. The lower your INT the greater the chance of the perk activating. My dude dumb as hell so i get multi XP damn near every 3rd action or so.

What was yall initial high SPECIAL? I went with a 9 in Luck and spread everything else out kinda evenly. Due to my high luck i never need to buy ammo or fusion cores. I find a ton of each in the wild. Ive found 4-5 fusion cores in one box a few times. Sitting on like 30+ of em.

i snuck past all the enemies going through the glowing sea....except a deathclaw at the end.


it ate two fatmen nukes, then ran away.
