It's also insulting that some of you think this guy that's been in the league doesn't have his footballs prepped at all.

Brady acknowledged the prepping of the footballs though.

Putting all bias aside, if Brady did what he is accused of doing, wouldn't it have made more sense to just take the 4 game suspension, move on and be done with this situation? Taking this matter to Federal Court has resulted in hearing transcripts, emails and other sensitive information being released to the public for all to see and scrutinize even further. If he was truly lying, lied under oath, and a Judge upheld the suspension, he would come out much worse in my opinion.

Essentially, why lie, continue lying, lie under oath, have your lies put on public display and your lies confirmed, all voluntarily? Why not take the L and move on?

Ask Clemens or any of the baseball guys? laugh.gif

Seriously though the counter argument is he thought he was untouchable, lie about small things (at least in his mind) and assume it would go away.
Once it didn't, people often keep lying and dig deeper instead of just 'accepting the L'

That said I don't necessarily think that's what happened with TB12. Did I hear correctly that it's the Ravens which 'snitched' to the Colts?

I hate Massachusetts with a passion. I love BB and I respect TB. Even rooted for them in the SB. All this current stuff is dumb but the way he's handled it is infuriating.

He's lying for his legacy and because he's lied already. Gotta stick with the lie now. Can't back down.

I can't be the only one more annoyed with Irsay and the Colts. Been a decade of whining. Pats DB's play too close to our WR's, we want 3 points after touchdowns, their footballs didn't have enough air pressure. Hmph, we never win.

He's like the little brother who runs inside to his parents crying about the big brother winning in 1-1 because he cheated every single time.

Yup and they almost simultaniously released a statement to deny it...laugh.gif. Harbaugh's probably worried about getting on BB's bad side laugh.gif. Nothing to do with on the field stuff though,he helped him get that Ravens job a while back iirc

Congrats, you're officially a Pats fan laugh.gif. In all seriousness I fully agree, dudes are one of the more pathetic franchises in the league. The NFL's Randall Weems mean.gif

I mean he's my dude, but we're talking about Lex Luthor-level anti caping overall.

I hate when that is justification for blatantly breaking a rule or law (just in general, not specific to this). Has to be a better reason

Its actually a pretty good reason though. Its logical. Other teams got caught altering balls during a game and there was no penalty. How do you explain that?

Me too.

If the rule doesn't work, get rid of the rule.

Don't whine when you get caught blatantly breaking it.

I said I wasn't being specific to this case

But if I was, I would say better reasoning is:

Tom throws the ball better with a certain Psi
The team had observed other QBs doing the same without consequence
The league did not reinforce this rule or show any sign that they took it overly serious
Taking this calculated risk then made sense to make their QB perform at a higher level

To me that's better than 'everyone cheats so is is no big deal'. You weigh the cost vs the benefit and in this case (in theory) the Pats thought the benefits outweighed
