depending on the draft picks they could get, that may be more valuable at this point.. assuming they go full rebuildHow would letting go of CJ help the Lions?

Cards also have a better wide receiver core.Larry was also moved to the slot, you want to move Megatron to the slot?
That money could be used to pay OL to keep stafford upright and help RBs

Well those guys aren't cheap.
CJs salary isn't keeping the team down.
Lions are 2nd in payroll and he's a 20 Millie cap hit.
There's a few bad contracts, he's one of them.
I agree, but a solid OL signing might help more then paying Megatron all that money to run sprint down the field with Stafford gets sacked.
Paying WRs doesn't work, and winning the FA doesn't either.
There's a balance.
I don't like paying WR big bucks because it doesn't equal wins /playoff wins.
That's where I'm coming from.
Stafford or Sanchize please
I'd try to get as many draft picks as possible. Boys style back in the day
We have. But playing devils advocate.
Paying a OL > Paying a WR.
I still believe. Trade for Josh Gordon too while we're at it.
Stafford is going to end up in Dallas either this offseason or next.
Jerry already put the feelers out.
Martin Mayhew was one of the worst drafters though, PERIOD.
Dude couldnt spot talent if it slapped him in the face. If you look at the players drafted 2nd round and beyond he has probably the worst track record Ive seen. We have reached on so many players that have hardly ever seen the field.
As far as Stafford goes, I am not sold he is the problem. Our offensive coaches have been pretty terrible and he has never had a good coaching staff around him.
More importantly though I dont think there are any QBs in the draft this year that are going to be any good, and there sure as hell aren't any better ones in free agency.

Paying a OL > Paying a WR.
Having a top 3 paid OT or DE has got you as much success has a top 3 paid WR.
Well I'm going off the notion as paying that 20 Millie to 2 serviceable OL.
