Chargeback on paypal

NT,
need some help with an issue through paypal. I sold a pair of shoes to another NT member and got a chargeback filed against me. paypal said they sent me emails about the dispute, which was an old email address on file (kind of ****** up on that one). Paypal sided with the buyer and paypal called me saying I have a negative balance and is charging me. I have not received the shoes back from the buyer or heard from him. Paypal said there is nothing they can do and that I have to resolve the issue with the buyer outside of paypal

Any one deal with this before?

If he wins a chargeback he doesn't have to send the item back

It's the CC reversing the payment so PayPal really has nothing to do with it

It's a screwed up situation. How much was the total and what shoes?

Send all of that to paypal.

You know NT doesn't like guys like this. Have you reported him to a mod?

Back in the day I saw a similar situation happen and some NT'ers showed up at the guys house.

So, OP, let me get this straight.

You advertised a pair of shoes as DS knowing that they were not? And @mrmakemoney did contact you, showing you pictures of the defects?

I'm all for helping scammed NTers, but this sounds like you tried to get over Mr. Make Money with some "VVVVVVNDS" sneakers and got caught up.

I'll wait to see his side.

Quan walkin round with your shoes on singing "ooh ooh oooh ooohhhhh"

^never advertised as DS
I sent him multiple pictures of the shoes through text message, buyer knew they had been worn

The chump already admitted to still having your shoes, incriminating himself, unknowingly, I'm sure.

Forward all of that to Paypal, but like they already told you, they're no longer involved since they refunded the money, their part is done.

You'll likely have to file a small claims case to recoup. Sucks, but it is what it is. Hope you get that punk.

It is highly unlikely that PayPal will do anything further regarding this case, even if you provide them with those text messages.

That issue at hand is that the buyer filed a charge back.  The issue is with technically between the buyer CC company and PayPal.  PayPal lays down 99% of the time a CC company tells them to.  PayPal's protections are in place almost entirely for the benefit of buyers, at the expense of sellers.

Not much you can do at this point but hope the buyer does the right thing and send you back the shoes.  This issue is one of the main reason I started the website/business i'm affiliated with.

That guy sounds like such a ****. He got his money back and is just going to keep the shoes for free? What a loser :smh:

You can tell they are worn in the pics to, he knew what he was getting

You sold shoes to some guy who's sn is Mrmakemoney. Take a second to read that and what he has done lol

Why did he file a chargeback in the first place?

Gotta hear the other side of the story, the other dude said he tried to work it out with the OP and OP didn't want to work it out which is why the dude went to a third party. Even info was sent to an old email address, you should be aware of what email was on file and I would think the other dude would text you about everything saying he was unhappy and would file a case with PP or chargeback and then you would know.

+1

If both sides are telling the truth and from what I can get from the text, this kinda looks like the case to me. The other dude tried to get his refund and OP didn't cooperate. OP should've worked it out with dude before everything got escalated. I'm interested in seeing the text from @mrmakemoney trying to get a refund from the OP, possibly paints a different picture.
