OFFICIAL 2015-2016 College Football Season Thread

Who would you put Oregon over , of the teams ahead of them? .. besides flipping them with alabama the list seems alright .

there shouldnt be rankings this early period

should start rankings mid season

Ole Miss should be number 1 or 2 if they gonna do rankings

Honestly from the looks of that defense on saturday who do you see stopping them outside of the SEC?

Word.

Can you name Ole Miss's leading rusher off the top of your head?

I ask to say, they have a great D sure but what happens when their one dimensional offense runs into an equally good defense?

Or are people just overreacting to early results and punditry?

Is it one dimensional because they simply can't run or because Alabama made it that way? Despite Alabama's back 4 issues over the past couple of seasons their run defense has consistently been one of the best in the country.

The point I was getting at is everyone wants to hot take and be the first to call Ole Miss the best team since the 37 Tamu juggernaut but then can't name most of the players on the roster. Can't even tell you who makes up that unstoppable defense they're touting.

We went through this last year and the same issues seemed to exist with Ole Miss's roster.

It's too early to talk about top defenses and rankings and stats and yada because most of the country to this point has played absolutely no one. Arizona hasn't even faced a power 5 team and dudes on the radio talking about what ucla needs to do to beat them. Who knows how Miss will hold up against better defenses.

At this point last year Miss St. Ran all over Bama and people said the same **** about Bama's defense then and the Mississippi teams offenses and defenses and look how the year ended. Neither high powered Miss offense could do **** at the end of the year when they hit the meat of their schedule and had to perform week after week.

Give it time. I personally don't believe Ole Miss is the best team in the country but I'm also not in a rush to declare who is.

Kelly is infinitely better than Bo Wallace though. So they definitely have that going for them right now.

So let me get this straight... because you can't name some players, the defense is overhyped and isn't really isn't that good?? Ok

I think people get "best team in the country" with "#1 team in the country".

Right now, Ole Miss should be the #1 team in the country based on what they've done. Two blowouts and beating a highly ranked and talented team on the road. Strong resume.

There's no pre season in CFB, some teams stumble out the gates other's don't.

bingo

No. Because people are claiming Ole Miss is clearly the best team in the country, yet don't even know who plays for Ole Miss and have probably only watched one of their games this year, then their opinions should be taken with a grain of salt. Ole Miss has the best defense yet you don't even know who is on that defense? Oh.

LSU is the second best team as some in this thread have claimed, because they've looked good against one opponent who was tremendously overrated by the same people in this thread who had incorrectly picked that opponent to win the SEC and go to a playoff in the first place?

Oh.

Granted and I probably agree with the majority of your point but the overall view from my is any opinion about Ole Miss doesn't have to be definite but when a quality team plays another quality its hard not to be impressed with the winner. Especially when that team went into another teams building being a underdog.

Whether it's the 3rd week of September or the last week of November it's an impressive win every day of the week.

Word. Auburn is the USC of the South

Oh no doubt it's impressive. I expected miss to lose by two scores.

I'm just saying to temper our reactions as far as them being the best team out.

I don't know why everyone reacts to everyone else's opinions like they're gospel. That was by far the most impressive win of the season so far, it's not crazy to think they're the best team in the country right now and they'll definitely have the opportunity to prove it.

Lol trust me I think I know a little bit more about Ole Miss than most man. And like Iron Man said there's a difference btw being ranked #1 and being the best, we won't know who the best is for a while from now. And i've said before rankings shouldn't even be out until mid season.

And because people are impressed with how a team played and giving their WEEK FOUR rankings does not mean folks are handing out trophies yet man.

Zinggg

Basically though, as far as media perception.

And Florida is the Colorado of the SEC. Ex national power that is still looking at 5 to 6 losses on its remaining schedule.

I commented before you ever replied to me man. Go back and read the posts I was commenting on.

Yea I saw where he said Ole Miss should be ranked 1 or 2, based on the season thus far thats not really an outlandish statement.  And the defense is a solid group, #1 scoring D last year and top 10 in a few other defensive stats with only 3 impactful starters gone. We're picking up off we're we left last year as far as getting to's and creating scoring opportunities.

Nah. Ole Miss, LSU and maybe FSU dassit

I'm not saying absolutely Ole Miss bout to win out and win it all guaranteed cuz we look like the best team ever, its the SEC so who knows, nobody saw us taking it 30-0 on the chin last year to Arkansas. But do we have the capability and the team to do so, yea I believe we do. Nothing wrong with hyping up a win on the road against the "#2" team in the country with the best defense.

Mamba if you believe that then dat Gunna x Spurrier team up fade is gonna sting.

And without mentioning Bryce Ramsey and the fighting yoppas.

So they scored a bunch of points on two horrid teams and passed all over Bamas secondary which has been suspect for two plus years and they're unstoppable?

Lawd yall do this with quarterbacks and teams way too much

hot takes 3 weeks in isn't rustle worthy unless someone trying to **** on your team

Ole Miss loses to LSU and Miss State. The Egg Bowl never goes the way it should. September rankings mean nothing.

Who said they're unstoppable? They look pretty good lol that's that nothing more nothing less. Who knows how the rest of the year will go i'm just looking at Vandy right now
