Houston hardhitter Scarface takes a softer, more introspective side on his newest single, "God," featuring John Legend off Deeply Rooted set to release September 4. Throughout the song, Scarface questions the existence of God and what his purpose is.

The Geto Boys emcee kicks off the passionate triumphant production playing God for a day, saying he'd rid the world of war and bring peace to his hood, making sure "you could sleep with out the fears of being woke by sounds of sirens, screams of people being smoked." He follows wondering what would happen if the devil had a dya to rule the world. Scarface imagines he'd get bitten by a snake the second it happened; he'd have his breath slowly taken away while he sleeps. Ultimately, he comes to accept that everyone has his of her beliefs, admitting religion isn't for everyone, and it's not the answer for everything. Behind John Legend's powerful chorus, where he begs for whoever it is people pray to to show its face, Scarface remains conflicted. He doesn't want to wait until he dies to find out.

This uneasiness about God comes close to when fellow Houston inhabitant Arian Foster declared he doesn't believe in any God. It's not bad to question. Listen to "God" below.

Best Buy has an exclusive three bonus tracks. Not even downloading this one, just walking into Best Buy and buying it. Face's last two albums were cold.

His songs on spirituality are deep.

"In an interview with Noisey, Face took that sentiment even further. The Deeply Rooted album creator expressed his disdain for previous GB projects like The Geto Boys, We Can’t Be Stopped, and Till Death Do Us Part.

“I don’t like the Geto Boys at all. I don’t like none of the albums, I don’t like none of the songs,” stated Scarface. “I’m done with that group, and I’m never going to be a part of it again. It’s just a part of my life that I want to forget. The Geto Boys and I can’t get no more money together. None. No more money.”

According to Scarface, chemistry among the trio was not the problem. It was other things associated with the crew that has led him to be done with the Geto Boys. The Texas native revealed he regretted making The Foundation and called Da Good Da Bad & Da Ugly a “f*cking trash album.”

“That was a time when Master P was taking over the airways, so J Prince wanted to Master P the game,” explained Face about the making of Da Good Da Bad. “I was like ‘wow like we f*cked up so bad trying to do Master P when we should’ve just continued to do us.’ I feel like that was the fall of Rap-A-Lot Records to me.”

Scarface did not hold back on his solo material either. He stated his dislike for The World is Yours, The Last of a Dying Breed, Balls and My Word, and My Homies Part 2. Face also referred to Made as his best lyrical work, The Diary as his Dark Side Of The Moon, and The Fix as his favorite."

^^^^So dude hates his whole career?

I feel like Jay, Face, and Beans need to do a song together for every album any one of them releases. Going to check this out though

He just seems angry at the industry and how certain people played him. I can respect it.

Face/NaS and Beans/Face albums would have been so damn dope. Really wish they would have happened.

Did my part. Album sounds real good too.

Scarface is a weird dude to begin wit so i wouldnt doubt any of what he said he actually felt. Wasnt he suicidal for a while also?

I'd bet there are many other vets who regret trend hopping over the years & are just not as open about it.

I'd agree. Seems like his career is full of inconsistencies and those 3 definitely shine IMO

J Prince wanting to "Master P the game" makes sense all these years later as i was seeing multiple coming soon albums plastered all over different Rap A Lot releases

Face is so humble it literally gets annoying sometimes. He was in one interview trying to list like 25-30 emcees that were better than him and it got so dumb but he kept trying.

"In Between Us" is one of hip hop's brightest moments, btw.

Last of a Dying Breed is Hard as ****, hell he tombout....
